Product Reviews of Philips Norelco arcitec 1050 Men's Shaver

Product Review: Awesome!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been using Norelco shavers for many years. After purchasing this one, I passed on my "cool skin" to my cousin which still works great.
The Philips Norelco arcitec 1050 Men's Shaver gives the smoothest shave I have ever received, even better than the old fashioned shaving cream and razors!
I read several comments about this product and those that were negative obviously were from competitors!
The chin is the roughest part of my beard, and I do have a rough beard.
This razor took the beard off with very little force and the best part is the way the heads conform to the chin area.
I always say "you get what you pay for".
Thank you, Norelco!

Product Review: Bad Shave
Summary: 1 Stars

3 months after purchasing the 1050X, I can not shave with these heads. I called Norelco and got a letter back stating that I had to request a refund with 45 days. The razor runs OK. The problem seemed to be the heads. I would have been pleased to get new heads. I have used Norelco shavers for at least 40 years and this is the first the heads have failed so quickly.

Product Review: Bad Shaver
Summary: 1 Stars

I would not recommend this product. I bought it for my fiance. It caused many razor burns and made skin breakout. His skin was irritated for a two days after and did not even get close to a smooth shave. Sorry, but I do not want to spend this kind of money, when he can get a clean smooth shave from a cheap razor. Product returned!

Product Review: Beautiful and flawed
Summary: 3 Stars

The Norelco arcitec 1050 is beautiful and flawed. The beauty lays in the eye catching design and craftsmanship found in the shaver, the flaw--unfortunately--is in it's primary purpose, which is, as a shaver. As it turns out, I've owned two other Norelcos and a mid-range Braun which have proven to be dependable, well made and produce a good, clean shave. The Norelco arcitec 1050, while doing reasonably well at the job of cleaning the scruff off one's mug, seems to require more passes to do the same thing the older models managed with one. The trimmer is also different. The idea is that you must pop off the razor head to get use of it. A novel idea I suppose, but I cannot say that it is any better or worse than the trimmer on my old Norelcos, though it is narrower. Want to buy an Norelco arcitec? Then the 1050 is absolutely the model you should get as the much pricier 1090 is identical in every respect except that the LED array includes a battery charge countdown(which ironically draws power), providing you a ballpark idea of when you'll run out of juice. This shaver is still a little expensive (mine happened to be a gift), but it is well made and should provide years of service. I've had mine for over a year and the battery still holds a good charge lasting over a week of daily use. The included travel carrier is useful, though a little tricky to figure out how to use at first.

Product Review: Best Norelco Yet!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the fourth generation of Norelco Electric's I've owned and I must say it's hands down the best. My previous Norelco the "James Bond" Spectra has served me well. It was a comfortable shave but took me a good five minutes to get that real close 'blade' smooth shave. With the new Arcitec 1050X that time is about cut in half and the shave is on par with a blade. Totally different feel that the heavier Spectra. The new design eleminates the need for the pressure adjustment wheel on the older model. The flex head design works very well. Cleaning is a breeze with the flip out heads. The hard shell travel case is nice. The razor charges in the case or stand. The trimmer is just OK and will take a little getting used to because of it's location in relation to the head. I didn't see the need to spend more for one of the models with a few more bell's and whistles. Over all a great electric. A bit pricy but well worth it to me and for anyone that chooses an electric over a blade.
