Product Reviews of Philips Norelco T980 Turbo Vacuum TrimmerProduct Review: Not quite as desired Summary: 3 StarsI find that the smallest setting--#1--does not give a real stubble shave. After about five-days without shaving, the trimmer would not cut anything when set at #1. The only way I can get a closer shave is to take the head attachment off and shave with the blade exposed, but this can result, and has resulted, in bald spots where I've tipped the blade too close to my face. This also defeats the vacuum function.
Product Review: Improved trimmer Summary: 5 StarsI purchased this trimmer to replace a Norelco T970 trimmer. The improvement in features and performance is tremendous, and I'm very happy with it.
Product Review: Impressed! Summary: 5 StarsThis is my 3rd or 4th beard trimmer. I bought this one because I wanted one that also worked when it was plugged in (I don't have where to leave it plugged in). That works well but I am really impressed with the vacuum feature. It really works as advertised. Very little cleanup required afterwards - makes for a happy spouse.
Product Review: Buzz, Buzz, Buzz went the Razor.... Summary: 5 StarsThis is just a great product!!! The only downside i see with this trimmer is if you have a really thick mustache that goes all the way up to your nose, it may be difficult to get just under your nose....that being said, i really don't have the "Tom Selleck" stache, so It works fine for me....It still misses some of the cut hairs, but it does catch nearly all of them. It's a bit loud, but so are most trimmers....It came completely dead with no power at all, after like 20 minutes it ran at full power for about 30 min and didn't even start to slow down! all in all, i give it a B+
Product Review: ouch! Summary: 4 Starswell, i had the older model of this trimmer for a couple of years now and decided it's time to get a new one.
wasn't so impressed with the improvements though it is still the best trimmer i ever had. and i never shaved, so i know my trimmers.
so, why wasnt i impressed:
1. super vacuum. just makes super noise. i still get hair in the sink, though a little less.... not really a big difference from the old model but an amazing feature!
2. when i use it without the level adapter (length 0) to trim the neck shorter, it somehow pinches me. very odd. i am blaming that on the self sharpening feature and hoping it'll improve in time.
a major difference in this model compared to the old one - you can use it connected to the outlet!
so when the battery dies on you in the middle of a trim, you are not left with half your face unshaven.
bottom line - killer trimmer. i like it.
get it.
