I purchased this gift for my boyfriend and it was great! He loves using it for edging up his beard and sideburns. The vaccum works descent collecting most but not all the hair. Its very easy to travel with also. Great gift for christmas or any other holiday.Product Review: A Good Value

This trimmer is a vast improvement over its predecessor from Norelco, a similar design that I owned for five years. The battery is stronger, the motor and switch are improved, and the parts fit better. The trim setting zoom works fine. Only an inordinate amount of pressure would make it shift settings. The attachment is useful for stray hairs in the nose and ears and for edging a moustache. Unlike the previous model this comes with a compact case where the charger (smaller and lighter than before and now rated 110- 240V) and attachment can be kept. Sure the Trimmer has 9 different settings, but what they don't tell you is that you'll usually end up with a 2 every time unless you tape it down. What I mean is, when you're trimming with it, and press to hard, the settings will actually change. So even though I wanted a 5, I pressed too hard and ended up with a 4 and I was stuck with a 4 in a spot surrounded by 5.
From a 4 I was like shoot, now I gotta shave it all to make it even. Then when you're shaving to make it all an even 4, you accidently press too hard on one spot. OOPS!
Now I have three...and the cycle continues.
Other than that, no complaints really--just the vacuum doesn't pick up all the hairs.

I just bought the Norelco T980 after reading many reviews from many different products. I had previously a BabyLiss product that lasted 3 years and then the battery died.
BIG PROS:
- Great vacuum. Takes over 95% of the hair.
- Corded in addition to Rechargeable Battery. That's just great, because in 2 years time, if the battery dies, you can still use it.
- Very comfortable in the face.
- Nice design.
COMMENT ON CONS:
- In some reviews I read that the minimum length (1) is not short enough. I was a bit concerned before buying it, because I like to have a very short beard. Nevertheless, I find it PERFECT. It leaves you a beard of around 1mm length, so I DON'T THINK THAT'S A PROBLEM.

This shaver is the best I have ever purchased. It cuts evenly, has a long battery life, prevents a mess, and is sturdy. I would highly recommend.
