Product Review: Good trimmer with design flaws

Backwards design steps mar an otherwise good trimmer. The good: powerful motor and effective blades do the main job very well. The bad: this trimmer was designed by people who do not use a trimmer. A new blade guard makes it impossible to trim one's moustache or touch up other areas. The length dial slips way too easily into a lower setting, and this can make a disaster of an otherwise good morning. Minor negatives: there's no travel pouch, and the piece is larger than previous generations. Mostly good: the hair catcher is a GREAT idea--however only about 80% effective. One must still trim before dressing--or end up with hairs on one's shirt. The sink, though, fares much better. Philips/Norelco needs a user loop somewhere late in its design process. This shaver does the job very quickly and very clean. It's not the quietest shaver because of the vacuum, but there's no hair in the sink to clean up when done. I really wish it would have a small pop up trimmer, but for the price, you can't beat it. The actual blade can work as a trimmer for longer lines, but you can't get the small, precise cuts with it.Product Review: Gotta take the bad with the good

Somewhat disappointed. This thing doesn't quite work as advertised.
Pros:
-Sharp blade gives a smooth, uniform cut with fewer strokes
-Convenient adjustable dial eliminates need for different trimmer heads
Cons:
-Vacuum is a complete joke! Very weak, only captures about half the cut hair, letting the rest just spill onto my hand and around my sink (the vacuum is the freakin' reason why I bought this thing in the first place)
-Pathetic battery life: 10 HOURS of charging adds up to only 45 MINUTES of use

This trimmer does what it is susposed to do - trim your beard. It fits into your hand well and is very easy to use and clean. The vacuum works well and very little hair escapes it. The length adjustment also is easy to use. You can't go wrong with this trimmer.Product Review: Great Beard trimmer
