Product Reviews of Philips Norelco QC5170 180-Degree Hair ClipperProduct Review: GREAT HAIR CLIPPER Summary: 5 Stars
One of the best hair clippers I have ever owned! The ability to rotate the clipper maked it easy to trim the back hair! The charge holds thru many hair cuts, and if it runs out of charge, the power cord enables operation to complete the hair cutting!
Product Review: Good Summary: 5 Stars
No complaints; it does what it says it does. It had no problem cutting through my relatively thick hair.
Product Review: Good Clips Summary: 4 Stars
The rotating top definitely comes in handy, it's nice to not have to uncomfortably contort yourself just to clip your hair. I with it came with more trimming options, but for a straight up clipper I've been highly satisfied. It's also proved to work out great for clipping out hairballs for long-hair cats ;)

I am retired and my wife cuts my hair since I do not need to be as picky as in my prior executive position. But, she does a good job. Accordingly, comments on the Phillips Norelco Hair Clipper are those of my wife combined with mine. First, the clippers cut well and a charge is more than enough to provide several full haircuts. Second, the clippers are light and easy to handle partially because of the comfortable design and the absence of a power cord that can constrain movement. Third, the adjustable rotation of the cutting head was judged to be of minor benefit and we believe the clippers could be easily used without the rotating head because they are shaped comfortably. Fourth, the motor is not as strong as the plug-in model we have been using because the motor will slow down slightly in the event of a small hair clog. Once the clog is brushed away, the motor returns to its previous speed. We do not think this is a major issue because the motor maintains enough power to cut properly. Fifth, when held at the wrong angle during close clipping around the neck area, the clippers will scratch mildly but not visibly. This is overcome by reducing the angle of cut slightly. On the whole, we liked the clippers and are happy with their performance. Any imperfections are easily overcome with a little practice. If Phillips Norelco could make these clippers at a lower cost by eliminating the rotating cutting head, we believe it would be a greater value than it already is.
Product Review: Good do-it-yourself trim Summary: 4 Stars
I just returned from Asia and don't like the hair cuts or prices in the States. Since I maintain a simple crew-cut I decided to try cutting my own hair. I bought the Philips QC5170 180 and am satisfied. Since I don't have any style needs I just mow it down from front to back going against the grain of the hair growth. Works great for a clean-cut look. The 180 swivel clipper makes it easier to get the odd angles at the back and sides.
