Product Reviews of Philips Norelco NT9110 Precision Nose and Ear TrimmerProduct Review: Awesome trimmer! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this trimmer off Amazon for like 18 bucks. When I received it I was excited to use it. It doesnt pull hair at all! Its kinda scary because you think its gonna catch the inside of your nose but it didnt at all! It was quick and the added eye brow trimmers are great! I would however go to walmart and buy it for 13 bucks.
Product Review: Bad Packaging. Summary: 3 Stars
The trimmers are OK. The packaging is terrible. It took me to 10 minutes to get it open and I cut myself on the hard plastic twice.
Product Review: Bad reliability, bad design Summary: 2 Stars
I'll be brief. I have just 2 problems with this trimmer - one is a showstopper, the other just irritating design issue.
First of all the thing just died after about maybe 5 uses at most. One nice day it simply refused to switch on. And, no, battery was full (I tried several fresh ones) and contacts were all fine. This happened after for the first time I washed the cutting tip under the running water as Norelco recommends. I was careful not to spill water on the rest of the trimmer. Then I dried it overnight before using. So my suspicion is that the tip isn't actually waterproof and leaked water into the motor or into whatever nuclear science Norelco jammed inside its wonder gizmo. Or maybe they simply use cheap inferior motors. Who knows...
Usability thing is how Norelco choose to design switching the trimmer on or off. Instead of a simple push on/off button under your finger you have to twist lower half of the body with one hand while holding the upper half steady with the other hand. That's already is contrived, inconvenient, slow and annoying by itself. But wait, here's more! There are 3 very close positions denoted by very soft dents: middle is Off, right is On and when turned left lower half of the trimmer comes off along with the battery. When switching off it's extremely easy to go past middle dent and dismember the darn thing. Happened to me few times.
Otherwise when the trimmer was working and not falling apart it was pretty usable, comfortable and was doing rather well what it's supposed to do. Goose-neck tip is properly shaped for ear and nose access. Compared to Panasonic trimmer I had before that was using rotating wire Norelco's cutters were safer and didn't bite the skin. Too bad Norelco doesn't know how to manufactures trimmers well :)
Product Review: Battery Case is the problem - SHORT LIVED! Summary: 1 Stars
Works well for a short time, design looks good, but then like so many here, the piece of junk fails because the battery fails to make proper contact. I am good at fixing things, but this does not make sense and not much you can do but throw it out. A shame! Very disappointed.
Product Review: Beats all the rotary trimmers out there. Summary: 5 Stars
I've tried them all. I actually bought this one at the Hong Kong airport, and it's the best for ear hair trimming. That's why I picked up another one from Amazon, and much cheaper.Definitely worth having in the arsenal to fight unwanted hair growth.
