I went over two years before replacing the blades...way too long. It takes about a week before the new blades 'seat in' correctly. When you clean the heads, keep the blades and screens matched to each other. I got these through Amazon...good price, free shipping etc. Better deal than through a big box store. It had been about four years with the same shaver heads, and I noticed it was starting to run out of battery quickly and lose its ability to cut hairs. I received an e-mail from Norelco about a discount offer to purchase replacement heads, and I took them up on the opportunity. I am quite pleased with how things have gone so far - the reviews are right, in that it does feel like a wholly new shaver again. I will wait to see how long these replacement heads last, but I feel that it's been a worthy investment so far.Product Review: Good As Always

After being frustrated with which new type of shaver to get, not to mention everyone elses reviews, I just ended up replacing the screens and blades of my Norelco 6885XL. It worked good when I bought it and still does with replacements. Product Review: Beware: Bezel not included!

These new shaver heads replaced 2.5-year-old heads that were not shaving well anymore. The new heads do shave me closer and smoother, but the difference is not nearly as great as I expected. Even worse, the box contains only the actual shaver heads (foils and blades), and does not include the surrounding bezel (the plastic part that holds the three heads and itself flexes) -- even though the picture on the box and on the Web site shows the heads in the bezel. This was especially disappointing because my bezel broke after a year of use, and the local distributor refused to replace it under the 2-year warranty. I had to improvise a repair myself. This product should not be displayed and represented as including the bezel.Product Review: Better than factory original blades

There was a little confusion,in my mind, on if I was buying the heads only, and if new blades were included. It wasn't clear that you replace the heads & razors and that they are together in one pack. Once you have the package in your hand, it's obvious that you replace both. The new razors are giving me a closer shave than I got, when the shaver was new.
