Product Review: Great unit

While not originally bought to use on my face, this is the first "cordless" or "electric" unit that even comes close to my regular razor. I have to say, I may use this more than my other electric if I feel too lazy to shave. I hadn't shaved in 2 or 3 days and it does a pretty good job. Mind you, it takes a week for me to get any real growth on the face. I can get away with shaving 5 to 6 times a month. So for normal people, if you use this every day or every other day it should keep it close enough to show up at work. It also does a great job everywhere else I've useed it.Product Review: Great upgrade

I owned the previous model as well, and I prefer the new BG2030. The BG2030 has an additional advantage in that its shortest trimmer setting is even closer than the shortest trim attachment on the old model. Perfect for those who want a close trim. Beyond that, may it suffice to say I agree with all the positive reviews. The head is a bit smaller than its predecessor, but the slightly smaller size helps it sail over the countours of one's chest much easier. This is a good trimmer.
One technical suggestion for owners: The instructions suggest letting the BG2030 run out of power before charging it (and to turn the charging base station off until needed). But the base station doesn't have an on/off button. So to accommodate their advice, and to avoid the hassle of plugging and unplugging the charging base, I went to the hardware store and for a couple bucks got an on/off switch that plugs into the outlet. (It goes between the outlet and the plug, and has an on/off button on it.) In this way I keep the base station without power until needed.

It says what it will do without the fear of being injured. I say this because my friends have told me horror stories of using trimmers anywhere on the body and it catching skin.
I got the grooming system in the mail yesterday and tried it out (after another item I got in the mail totally failed) and I must say that this made my day much better.
The regular foil got as close as I could with a regular razer (my fusion power) and I decided to try the attachments and they worked great and I love the 5 settings per attachment.
Only down fall is, as mentioned by another customer, that to use the trimmer attachments you must change the main head from the foil to another attachment. If you plan on using it in the shower you have to carry all the heads with out and it does not come with a carrying case or anything, which may also cause a problem when you travel.
Despite that one downside it is a great product.

I had first bought the Philips Norelco BG2030 Bodygrooming system, because I thought that I would be able to use it on my face and on more personal areas like my groin. When I opened the instruction manual, voila there it said, "Not to be used on face," and I was saddened for a moment, but remembered the bigger reason I bought in the first place - to surprise my wife. I don't shave my groin area regularly, because it is very time consuming with a traditional razor, but with this body groomer, it was great. I was able to shave all of my groin area in less than half an hour and I had no burning or itching afterward. Great tool!Product Review: Great, if used properly

After the full 9 hour charge time I used this puppy to great success. Just make sure you're careful around very, er, loose skin. The blade can cut skin if you let it. It's a great product, if used properly!
