I bought this Shaver for my husband as a Christmas Gift. He loves it. He said that it is such a smooth shave, it doesn't nic his skin, and doesn't leave irritation like his old one. He also made the comment that the hair didn't grow in as quick as it usually does. His face and neck fealt VERY smooth!Product Review: BOOO!!!

I have used Norelco razors for many years, I guess 8 different models. I am so dissappointed with this on, its so noisy, heads are not adjustable any more on the midrange razors, I will never buy this brand again. Philips Norelco 8140XL SpeedXL Men's Shaver
I made the mistake last year of buying my first foil type razor from Amazon(Braun 360 Complete)after using a Norelco rotary for years. I only wish I could return it since it was much more expensive than the Norelco. After using for almost a year I gave up on it and recently purchased the 8140XL. This is without a doubt the best electric razor I've ever used. It is unbelievably quiet and shaves very close without irritation even on the neck hairs. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it doesn't have an indicator that shows how much charge is remaining and it doesn't charge without a charging stand. Other than that so far I'm very pleased and would highly recommend it.

I've used several electrics over the last 5 or 6 years or so including a Norelco from a couple years ago and most recently a Panasonic Vortex 8178. The Vortex is loud, powerful, and by and large does a great job. I ended up dropping and breaking the Vortex which is why I bought this Norelco.
This Norelco does just as good a job as the Vortex, and does so in a much gentler, softer way. It cuts just as close without the loud noise and without the irritation the Vortex can give you at first. This doesn't have the fancy cleaning machine like the Vortex does, but that was more trouble than it was worth--you have to buy replacement cartridges and it takes hours on end to clean it. You just rinse this Norelco under the faucet and it's as good as new. The only weak spot on this Norelco is its trimmer--it just isn't very powerful, not nearly as powerful as the Vortex and even not as good as my old Norelco. But the weak trimmer isn't enough to bring my rating down because the shaver works so well overall. Highly recommended.

I have owned Norelco shavers for over 40 years and this is by far the best of the lot. It is fast, shaves close and the battery life is wonderful. I use it to not only shave my beard but my entire head and neck. This is the first shaver that allows me to do that without the need to follow up with a blade occasionally.
