Product Reviews of Parker 22R - Long Handle Butterfly Open Double Edge Safety Razor & 10 Shark Super Chrome BladesProduct Review: Excellent Summary: 5 Stars
Excellent service, and works great. I am happy to not use any more disposable razors, I hate plastic and it is bad for the environment. This razor is durable, nice looking and gives a fresh cut.
Product Review: Excellent Razon Summary: 4 Stars
This Razor is great. Being made of brass, it may not rust. This razor is quite heavy and it is very easy to load and unload blades - just twist the handle and the butterfly wings open up. The price is great
Product Review: Excellent Shave,Beautiful Razor Summary: 5 Stars
I got this as a Valentines gift for my fiance and he loves it. He has really thick facial hair and is always worried about shave bumps. He had never used a safety razor before and he loves it. I have purchased seperately, PERSONNA brand (Since 1875) safety double edge blades that work wonderfully with it.I have plenty for sale if any one is interested? 1sleepingbeauty@care2.com
But, I will be buying another one of these razors for a friend of mine for his upcoming birthday. Its an awesoe gift for the men in my life. God price too
Product Review: Excellent so far Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great safety razor. It has been my only safety razor since I decided to switch to this kind, so I can't compare it to others. However, I will review my experience here.
The razor is very easy to load with a blade (some, you have to unscrew the whole head. This one has a "butterfly" top, which opens to load the blade. Really easy.)
The razor so far (a month into using it exclusively) seems well built. Nothing broken, nothing lose. Only a very, very minor scratch I made a couple of days ago, but it was my fault.
Two things to keep in mind:
1. Clean this razor after every shave with a cloth. I use a small towel to quickly swipe the inside and the outside. I always clean the blade separately AND VERY CAREFULLY NOT TO CUT MYSELF OR THE TOWEL. Just tap the blade with the towel.
2. Shaving with this takes more time than using a Mach3 or an electric razor. Shave a small rectangle of your face with one side, use the other side to shave a second small area and rinse the razor. Repeat until you've gone through your whole face. After you've gone through your face, re-apply shaving cream or lather and get ready for another pass through your face. It usually takes me 3 passes to shave well One north-south pass, one accross the direction of hair growth and one against. The idea with a Double Edged safety razor is to progressively reduce hair. It works. It took me two shaves and four to five minor cuts to learn how to use it. (almost no pressure: follw this link: [...] For the record, I have very sensitive skin and thin hair.
To sum up the shave: I get as close a shave as I did before with my Mach3. It takes considerably longer (10-20 minutes vs. 3-5) However, I HAVE NOT HAD RAZOR BUMPS NOR INGROWN HAIRS since I started using. Blades are cheap and I feel better about using only blades in optimum condition and throwing away the blade when it is slightly sub-optimal. Lastly, it has a feel of elegance and skill to shave with one of these.
Product Review: Excellent! Summary: 5 Stars
Works even better than I hoped. Super easy to clean. Durable, quality construction. No unecessary plastic waste (like with most other razors). And the closest, smoothest shave I've ever had. I have sensitive skin but with this razor I never get razor burn and I haven't once cut myself!
