I had forgotten what it was like to shave with a good ol' safety razor. Man, this Parker 22R really gives you a close shave, and it is no problem getting re-aquainted with it. Sure was a delight to get that close of a shave again. I gave my so called disposable razors away, and am experiencing the good ol' fashioned shaving way again.Product Review: Broke after 8 months

I have to say that I was disappointed in this razor from the start. I love the concept of DE razors and will purchase perhaps a Merkur very soon. Ever since I got this razor though it has been sub-par. when you tighten the blade down you can see that the blade edge is slightly uneven on 1 of the sides. I didn't care too much but it probably caused a few of the nicks I've had with it. A few weeks ago I changed blades and tightened it down (keep in mind I don't really torque it hard, but tighten it enough for it to be sturdy) and one side broke off. Now the razor is junk and it hasn't been even a year. So much for saving lots of money with this purchase. Do yourself a favor and buy quality for 10 bucks more.Product Review: Cut through my beard like butter

My wife bought me this for christmas and I love it. A little intimidated at first though. I grew my entire beard out to almost a 1/2 inch before I used it for the first time and it cut through it like nothing I had ever used before. No snags or pain of any sort. I rushed through it the first time so I got a little razor burn on my adams apple but that is normal when you switch razor, plus I always have problems in that area. Also, I have very coarse facial hair and it did great with that. Great razor and great present.Product Review: Decent Value

I've been using this razor for a few months now, with little complaint. As the other reviewers have stated, when putting in a new blade, you have to toggle it around so it sits just right. Because of the chrome exterior, you have to use a q-tip or similar item to scrub the razor every few weeks to get rid of build up and residue. Other than that, I don't have many complaints. It's easy on the face, and fairly durable as I've dropped it while cleaning once or twice.Product Review: Does the job quickly and easily!

I bought the Parker 22R razor as a backup to my regular Merkur Vision razor and as a travelling razor, since the Vision is a larger device. In both jobs the Parker performs excellently. The Parker is not adjustable, unlike the Vision, but there is virtually no learning curve. With a good blade, it is very easy to get a close shave in only one pass.
For what it's worth, I moved to double-edge safety razors from cartridge safety razors such as the Mach III because I never had a particularly safe shave from the cartridges, usually winding up a bloody mess on the underside of the jaw. With both the Merkur and this Parker, I have not had a problem with nicks and cuts. I own a styptic pencil, but virtually never have to use it!
