This thing is solid, has great weight, and seems very well built. I love the butterfly opening, it makes changing razors and cleaning extremely simple. I've been shaving with this for a few weeks now and it hasn't let me down yet. It gives me an incredible shave and it's very easy to use. The handle has a good grip, I haven't had any problems holding on to it at all. I haven't cut my face once with this thing and couldn't be happier.Product Review: Back to Basics

After years of using the new age double and triple blade razors, and dealing with razor burn and irritation, I decided to go back to the safety razor like my dad and grandfather used.
I've been using the 22R for a few weeks now and my face could not be any happier with the results! It's not near as irritating as the others and it gets through my tuff beard alot easier, leaving my face as smooth as it can possibly be.
I have not liked shaving for a lot of years, but when using the 22R I actually enjoy it. I feel like I'm pampering myself.
It's great to be back to the basics.

Then came the newfangled razors. Fast, high tech, marketing galore. Is the shave really better with these fancy named gizmos? I had forgotten. After getting tired of spending mega bucks on blades for these things, it was time to return to the past. 1 Blade. 1 Razor.
I AM I GLAD I DID!
Nothing beats these old fashioned razors for closeness, comfort and smooth skin. Several months ago, I went back to an old shave cream that needed to be rubbed in, I prepared my face. I took my time. I used this razor. I was rewarded.
This razor is a dozzie! Good looks, well made, and does it shave. It's like a hot knife going through butter. How could I have been so stupid for so long to go for the razor hype? I use this razor daily and will never go back! Shaving is now an expression, an art, a talent and not a rush job and my face is smooth to prove it!

Great Shaver - this razor has great balance, nice weight and shaves better than my barbershop! These razors actually cut the hair - they don't tug, rip or pull it like many of the multi-blade razors that are just a gimmick. Yeah, it takes a little more time to shave with this, but it is well worth it. No rash, ingrown hairs, etc. I've been using this for several months - couldn't be happier.Product Review: Best Shave In A Long Time.

I used to use the Gillette Sensor Excel and it gave pretty close shaves. It used to get clogged with hair a lot and drain my pocket of cash. Not to mention it gave great razor burn and general irritation.
The Parker 22R shaves closer with no irritation. Doesn't get clogged with hair and the replacement blades are cheap, yet sharper than anything I've seen in a disposable cartridge. I took my time with the parker while shaving the first time and it was still faster because I didn't have to stop and get the hair out of the blades.
The balance is slightly off with the handle being heavier than the head. That actually worked to my advantage since I am used to cartridges that have almost no weight. Maybe after some more experience I'll switch to something with a better balance, but so far I have no complaints.
