Product Review: Can't get a decent shave

I have had less expensive, single head panasonic shavers in the past that I liked. I thought by spending more money I would get a better shaver. Not so. I can't get a decent shave from this shaver, even though I have a light beard. I also find it clumsy to use. I have a $10.00 shaver purchased from a major drug store (advertised "as seen on TV") that gives a better shave but has too small a head. I bought it for emergency use and didn't expect much. I expected more from Panasonic but this shaver just doesn't cut it.Product Review: Cheaply Made

This shaver was purchased for my husband in June of this year. Yesterday while he was using the shaver the plastic frame that holds the foil assembly cracked at its end and a piece of plastic broke away. The foil assembly frame is constructed of what appears to be very thin and cheap plastic. My husband owned another Panasonic shaver that lasted for over 10 years with nary a problem other than foil and blade replacement. He does not recommend the purchase of this shaver and if other Panasonic models are similarily constructed, he would not purchase any of those.
2/15/10-Here's an update on this shaver and the poor design of the foil frame. My husband is now on his 4th foil frame. The last one has just cracked after only a few weeks of use. Called Panasonic to complain about the failure of the foil support. They want the shaver sent back to their customer service center. The shaver will be replaced with a rebuilt shaver for a fee. This is ludicrous. The shaver works fine. It's the stupid foil frame that fails. What a joke!
Product Review: Close Shave

I have bought and used at least 4 different brands of electric shavers over the years. My latest one finally gave up so I decided to try this Panasonic for a change.
This razor is much better than most others I have tried. The main advantage is that it provides a much closer shave. I also like being able to use it wet or dry. Plus, cleaning it with liquid soap is easier and more efficient than trying to brush the heads clean. The only down side I can see is that the battery does not last quite as long as some other shavers. However, this is a minor inconvenience and not a problem.
I have read a few reviews saying they could not get a close shave or it cut their face. I have not had any of these problems. Yes, it does take time for your skin to adjust to a new razor. However, I had no irritation from day one. Plus, I am getting a very close shave. I thought that I would have some problems because of my fair skin and I have always had trouble getting all the hairs on my neck. But, I had no problems at all.
Therefore, I highly recommend this razor based on my personal experience.

I've been using rotary style electric razors for more than 15 years. I finally grew tired of the endless circling necessary to get a clean shave...and this circling often led to irritation, especially on my neck, and occasionally in-grown hairs. Sorry for the gory details, but they are necessary to adequately contrast this razor.
I've been using this for six months now ... in-grown hairs have virtually disappeared and irritation on the neck is drastically reduced. This razor cuts very cleanly and rarely requires more than two passes over one area. For stiffer hairs, it cuts through like a lawn-mower--absolutely brilliantly. After a few days of growth this device loses some of its effectiveness, but the price I pay for lazy weekends...
I tend to use this razor dry, however it works well wet also. It seems to give a closer shave dry, although if shaving in a steamy bathroom or hot hotel room, wet is the only way to go.
The razor holds a charge for weeks, which is good because you get to keep the charging cable (which is clunky and heavy) stored away most of the time. It has a rapid charge feature and self-cleaning cycle that I use about once per week. The wet/dry functionality of this device makes it extremely easy to keep clean.
My only hesitation in giving this five stars is that, after six months, the foil feels a little duller, and thus it is taking slightly longer to shave. I have also found that irritation has increased slightly in the past few weeks which, as I stated earlier, wasn't a problem for the first five months or so. For the price and the regular cleaning, I would expect the foil to remain sharp for at least a year.
For its good shave, low level of irritation, long battery life, and wet/dry flexibility, this razor gets 4.5* from me. Excellent product, highly recommended.
