I was a little skeptical about this purchase, however, the "wet" shave attracted me. I was pleasantly surprised. The Panasonic shaves quicker and closer than my Braun. I've used Remington rotary shavers for over a decade now. I decided to try a foil blade after reading the Consumer Reports reviews. The best CR foil razor didn't get great reviews from Amazon customers so I looked at other shavers at a reasonable price that received better reviews and this is the item I purchased. The Panasonic does provide a smoother shave with much less irritation--I have yet to experience red neck. I've been using it for nearly 30 days now and it does require multiple passes to get a clean shave, but it does a better job than rotaries I've used. It is loud, but that's not a problem for me. It also will not shave while plugged in, which bothers me a bit, but really isn't an issue because it charges fast and holds a charge for several weeks. The cleaning is really simple. I haven't tried a wet shave and probably won't, but the dry shave is really good for the price. I'd recommend it for anyone currently using a rotary shaver.Product Review: Bought as a gift

After reading the reviews I bought this because it was affordable and sounded like a great buy. My boyfriend said he really likes it because it shaves his face very well. I have to agree with my boyfriend because his face can look and feel pretty rough, but after using this shaver his face is very soft. He really loved that I bought this gift for him. The only downside is that this shaver did not get the neck hairs thoroughly.Product Review: Breaks very fast

I've used a panasonic linear for over 15 years. In this time, I've had 2 (still on my second now). When I bought my second about 2 years ago, I also bought the latest greatest rotary and did a side-by-side comparison because the rotary advertisments are so compelling.
No comparison. I won't bore you with the details, but the linear is superior in every way. Speed of shave, closeness of shave, quickness & hold of charge, and cleaning. Don't even think about a rotary, I'm 100% sure you'll love the linear. Get a wet/dry - - these are great for the shower which gets the shave very close to a blade when used in with soap & water.
