The light on this machine is absolutely pointless.
Now they have one with a vacuum.
Pretty soon they'll market one that can text, take pictures and play music.
Guys: Come up with a trimmer that works and lasts for more than just a few weeks.

Wish I had purchased the other trimmer at another site, for $20 more that cut when you pushed the on button. This Panasonic needs to be 'canned'. This one must be a fan for knats, it doesn't trim. The light feature could be nice, if an engineer would have designed it instead of Helen Keller. I was, and am, disappointed and would find a better product in using my 4 year older trimmer with no light, or wet/dry feature. Don't purchase.Product Review: Changed for the worse

Having used the ER411 since it first came out, I asked for this new one because the blade on the old one was getting dull. Boy, what a difference and not for the better. Forget the lights and the wet/dry capabilities, it simply doesn't get in there and cut down the timber. And in guys, that can be a lot. The ER411 did such a great job, I don't know why panasonic had to fiddle with the product. I removed both blade components to try and figure out what had happened, and it turns out they actually lowered the distance of the blade's cutting tip in the new product. Now why would they do that?
I've seen complaints on the ER411 that it tended to tug, so perhaps this was in response to that. But those comments were few and far between and should not have prompted a complete overhaul of the product. Even the ER412, which I bought last year, didn't cut a thing. And since returning a nose trimmer is akin to returning used toilet paper (in my opinion), I was stuck with it. Now I'm stuck with the ER421 and I truly hate it.
My next step is to find the old ER411, not the ER411NC (which is also just as bad and yes, I stupidly bought that one, too). I was hoping panasonic returned to its roots by actually cutting nose hair down to the root with the ER421, but no such luck.
Keep in mind you can also use these trimmers to take care of that Yoda hair that grows on the outside of men's ears and in our ear canals, and you need something that can get the job done. This doesn't do it. So if you're listening Panasonic, bring back the old blade or at least make it available for people to purchase so we can keep our ER411s. It really is the best trimmer I've ever used. This is not that one.

I purchased this trimmer, and as usual Amazon.delivered. I wrote back to tell them the trimmer stop working after two weeks and they sent me a new one, no charge. The new one seems to be working fine, so we will see. I have yet to have a negative experience dealing with amazon.com.
