I actually did have it give out on me but was able to bring it back to life. This was due to a small battery leak that simply corroded a terminal so it was a simple fix. I ended up taking it a part and the diy types it is very simple to do if need be. There are only about 3 parts inside and it has a nice big motore. The only thing that may be troubling for long term reliability is that there are a lot of unsoldered connections made through spring metal tabs. But for the dyi types these would be easy to fix if they develop weak connections. I am deducting one star for it appearing fragile in this regard but admit it is close to 5 stars for sure.
Probably the best small unit available.

I have tried many hair trimmers up to the 70 dollar range,all of them jammed up with hair,this one doesnt and best of all its battery powered (aaa batteries) well worth money.Product Review: perfect every time

Hubby and son were extremely happy with this product, much better than a very expensive trimmer purchased earlier at a store. Great design, very easy to use, superb price. Couldn't be happier with this transaction.
