Product Reviews of Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive Diapers, Size 2, 152 Count

Product Review: I love these diapers
Summary: 5 Stars

I love the wetness indicater. Also these are one of the only diapers that I can get that do not irriate my sons sensitive bottom. Thanks Pampers

Product Review: I tested two brands, and this is the clear winner for us.
Summary: 5 Stars

I tried two types of diapers in succession: Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive and Huggies Lil' Snugglers. The Pampers were clearly the best for my baby for two reasons. First, this was the only brand that resulted in no diaper rash. My son had surgery that caused him to temporarily have bowel movements with a newborn-like frequency, so we were changing diapers FREQUENTLY. Even with frequent changes, the Huggies left him with bad diaper rash (by bad I mean there were many sore bumps and even some that bled). With the Pampers he had no diaper rash at all. The second reason I rank Pampers as best is that they can hold a lot of liquid for overnight. During the day this doesn't matter to me since we change so frequently, but at night it is great that his skin is not sitting there all wet and yucky. I decided to try the Huggies after reading the review on here that pointed out that Huggies' absorbency is more due to the use of cellulose and "paper" type absorbents, while Pampers is "super absorbent polymers". That got me to thinking about the whole natural vs. chemical type of thing and - while I realize that maybe the paper is more chemical-y than the polymers, who knows - I thought I'd try the paper-based brand (Huggies). I also do like the shape of Huggies better, but it was blown out of the water by the better result for my baby's bottom that I got with the Pampers.
OH, one last thing: you know the little balls of gel that some parents mention with Pampers? Well, I have gotten those on occasion with every brand I've ever used, from Pampers to Huggies to store brands.

Product Review: Just like the classic swaddlers!
Summary: 5 Stars

We used Pampers Swaddlers with our first daughter because they were the softest, most absorbent diapers we could find. This is also the brand that was provided by the hospital and we were hooked! We tried various brands including Huggies, Luvs, and Costco diapers and definitely felt that the Swaddlers seemed the most comfortable based on the feel of the diaper when it was wet.

With our second daughter, Pampers had come out with their dry-max technology, which worried us because of the report of chemical burns and the consumer safety commission investigation. We found that the Swaddler Sensitive are just like the classic Swaddlers, with the addition of the yellow strip on the front that turns blue when the baby wets the diaper, so now you don't even have to pinch the diaper to tell if it's wet, you can just take a peek.

Definitely the best diaper on the market for a newborn, and worth the extra money for the wet/dry strip alone.

REVISED: The Size 3 does not have the wet/dry strip. I will not buy again as this is the reason I buy the sensitive.

Product Review: Keeps the poop in (usually) and super soft on the skin
Summary: 4 Stars

These diapers work really well for my baby. Once in a while she has a poopy blowout, but I don't think any diaper can competely avoid that. They also do a great job overnight: my baby sleeps for 10 hours, and I do not need to change the diaper until she wakes up. I have tried Nature Babycare and Huggies as well. These are the only ones that are super soft against my baby's skin, have a strong enough tape to keep the diaper flaps closed, and provide a nice elastic fit around the thighs. Unfortunately, they are not so good for the environment, which is why I took off a star.

Product Review: LOVE these diapers
Summary: 5 Stars

My husband and I love these Pampers Sensitive Swaddlers. They gave them to us at the hospital and they totally spoiled us on other diapers. I like their thin design, I like the way they fit - there's lots of crotch room, so they can ride kind of high (which I like - no leaks out the top), they're soft on the inside and outside, and they've NEVER leaked. But most of all, we LOVE the stripe that tells you when the diaper is wet. It's brilliant. When you're a first time parent and you don't have a hang of when the diaper is wet (especially with diapers these days - it's almost impossible to tell when a lot of them are wet because they're so good at wicking away moisture - but boy oh boy can your baby tell!), and you've had little sleep, and you are exhausted and feel like you are losing your mind, it is SO NICE to be able to just look and, "Oh, the stripe is green. I guess he's fussy because he needs a dry diaper." Just makes these first few months just a little easier. And you know, even a little easier makes a big difference with a newborn. Seriously. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. We asked for a case of them for Christmas. The only thing I don't like about them is that they have a slightly weird smell, but I've got a freakishly sensitive sense of smell, and it's not really bad, just kind of weird. And I'm bummed out that I guess the moisture stripe is only sizes 1 and 2. I will be sad to see that stripe go. It's the main reason we buy these.
