Product Review: 2 1/2 years of using Pampers and suddenly regular leaks and now a rash - bring back OLD Cruisers!
Summary: 1 Stars

Simply put, my 2 1/2 year old son has been happy in the old Pampers Cruisers, and over the past month we have had a surge in leaky diapers and, more telling, a new rash on his "John Thomas"! Never had a rash before on his front side. And as for the leaks, I'd hazard a guess that the reduced elastic lining and mesh lining play a major part.

I will be switching to Huggies even though they previously didn't fit him properly.

I urge you to boycott these new Dry Max diapers to send a message to P&G that they cannot make cost-cutting decisions disguised as "product improvements" when there wasn't necessarily an issue with the previous incarnation of the product anyway!

If they have faith in their new "improvements", then offer both old and new products to their customers and let them decide!

Product Review: 4 leaks the first week
Summary: 1 Stars

We've always purchased Pampers diapers and when our 7 month old grew out of the Pamers Swaddlers we switched to Cruisers.

Within the first week though we've had 4 leaking diapers and we'll be switching to something else...

Product Review: 5 star to 1 star
Summary: 1 Stars

The newly designed cruisers are smaller and much less absorbent resulting in more leaks and rashes/chafing. i have been a loyal pampers mom for years and have always been extremely happy with them. wish they hadn't changed them....am sure the new ones cost much less to produce since they are much less substantial (not that any saving was passed on to the consumer).

disappointed.....switching brands....

Product Review: A major change for the worse
Summary: 1 Stars

I'll repeat what the other recent reviews have said. Ignore any review that were written before December 2009 - they were written about an entirely different product. That old product was wonderful. We used Pampers exclusively for the last 16 months and almost never had failures or leaks.

But, like I said, that was a different product. As of our most recent purchase, they've re-designed the diapers to be thinner and a whole lot less effective. The diapers have a lot less absorbing capacity. It's a rare morning these days where my son's sleeper isn't soaked because his diaper leaked.

Unfortunately, we ordered a big box and now we're stuck with them. As of tomorrow, we're going to start experimenting with other brands.

So, to summarize:

Before: more expensive, but more effective. Worth the cost.
After: more expensive, nearly useless. Waste of money.

Product Review: Absorbant Portion of the Diaper was Changed for the Worse
Summary: 1 Stars

I have two children ages 2.5 and 11 months. Until a few days ago, we used Pampers exclusively because I fell in love with the Pampers Swaddlers, Size 2-3 (14-22 Lbs), Economy Plus Pack, 152 Swaddlers that we received from the hospital after the birth of our first.

Needless to say, as many reviewers have noted, Pampers decided to change the liner a few months ago, a change that resulted in many leaks (a problem that I never had before the change). I always order at least a size larger for my kids (based on the recommended weight) so that was clearly not the issue.

So what did pampers change?

1. Basically with the "new" and supposedly "improved" liner, the liner portion that used to measure 17 inches for a size 5 Cruiser is now about 10 inches!!! Pampers basically removed the liner portion from the back of the diaper so that my girls started to leak from up the back. From my anecdotal experience (I didn't measure the amounts of liquid but from what I saw) the "new" Cruiser holds less liquid as compared to the old one.

2. They also changed the old "wick" or "mesh" liner to one that has no holes (no mesh). I didn't think that this made much of a difference. The main problem was the surface area of absorbent liner that comes with the diaper.

So I started to research. I researched and found a pad like thing that you insert in the diaper (called diaper Doublers), but some people said it wasn't good and that they still had leaks.

A thought occurred to me: I would just try a different brand of diapers, as scary as that was for me after using Pampers for over 2 years.

So after extensive research into other brands (including store/generic brands like white cloud, kirkland (costco's brand), and Luvs Premium Stretch Diapers, Size 4 (22-37 Lbs), 180 Diapers (another brand made by pampers, but which they also changed in 2009, resulting in the tabs breaking as many reviewers noted), I decided on Huggies Supreme Little Movers Diapers, Step 4 (Pack of 100).

I can tell you that the Huggies Supreme Little Movers are GREAT!!! I was apprehensive in making the switch because some reviewers complained about a gel substance that stuck to and irritated their little one's bottom, but I think that was an old problem as I have not seen any gel come out of the diaper, nor have I experienced diaper rash, which I was also wary of.

As choosing a diaper is a highly individual thing, I offer my experience as a guide to others who are similarly situated and are feeling frustrated by the sudden changes with the Cruisers.

I would also like to note that I also ordered the Huggies Overnites Diapers, Size 4, Big Pack, 64-Count Box for the evenings, and I am extremely pleased with them. They are like oversized swaddlers and have extra absorbent portions. Finally, no leaks!!!
