Our clinic had purchased one of the LED Dermatoscopes made by this company. I have been very happy with how well it has worked for us.
I saw the LED otoscope on the company website and thought I would give it a try after the bulb burnt out on my old faithful Welch Allyn.
I admit I was at first skeptical due to the low price but after receiving the otoscope I am impressed. It doesnt quite feel as "tight" as a Welch Allyn but the functionality of the otoscope is equal if not better.
It has an extremely bright light and even though the feel isn't quite as nice as my old Welch Allyn the fact that it comes with a lifetime warranty negates my worries about how it will hold up long term.
I really love the fact I will never have to buy another expensive halogen replacement bulb. I still can't figure out why such a tiny little bulb should cost [...]
In my honest opinion you will not find a better value in a professional model otoscope.

^^^^^ON SALE LIMITED TIME^^^^ Normally this otoscope is $89 on Amazon but there is a technical problem with our listing for our halogen otoscope that sells for $50 and it is not showing up on Amazon. Until this can be resolved and our halogen model returns we are offering this model for $69. This is a Professional Model Fiber-Optic LED otoscope. It is a full size model with large 5x lens and an LED light source. It is of chrome plated brass construction and uses 2 C cell batteries for its power. Rechargeable C cells also work well in the otoscope. Standard size disposable specula work with the otoscope and attach over the nose cone just like Welch Allyn. The otoscope head attaches to the handle via a luer lock mount and can be removed so the handle can be used with an ophthalmoscope. The LED light uses a fiber-optic pathway to bring light into the ear canal. The light is very bright and illuminates the ear canal very well. The main advantage of an LED light is that it is impervious to shock and trauma unlike a halogen bulb which is incandescent and contains a fragile filament. Halogen bulbs for the high dollar otoscope companies can now run up to $35-$40. 2 other advantages you also have is that batteries will last and last since LED uses so little power. Also the LED light source is guaranteed for life to never go out. If it does a replacement LED module will be sent out to you free of charge. Not having to replace incandescent bulbs will add up to a substantial savings over the life of an otoscope. You can also purchase 2 sets of rechargeable batteries and never be without an otoscope like you could be with a W/A if you have to plug the handle into a wall to let it charge.
