I bought this product over four years ago at Wal-Mart and it has worked wonders for me. We had been trying to get pregnant for three years with no luck. It's extremely easy to use, and I was pregnant within a couple of months of buying it. With my second child, I was pregnant within two weeks...amazing! The great thing for me is that I have very irregular cycles and sometimes only get a peiod every three or four months. So, when I go in for my first doctor's visit, they always try to tell me that I'm much further along, because they base it on your last period (even if you tell them you're irregular!!)...very frustrating. Once I used the scope, I was able to tell them EXACTLY when I ovulated and the info they got from my "dating ultrasound" matched up perfectly. I've looked for this product several times since then, to purchase for friends, but haven't been able to find it anywhere. I've seen some online, but they're much more expensive (I paid less than $20 for mine).
I read some of the other reviews where people had problems, but I've had mine for four years now and it still has the same battery in it and the lens is just fine. The instructions do say not to lick the lens, because it could scratch it. So, I've always been very careful to only clean it with a scratch-free cloth (you can buy them for cleaning glasses). It does take a little practice to learn how to make saliva without bubbles, but a few bubbles are fine, too. You can also pop them with a clean straight pin (carefully, so you don't scratch the lens).
It's been on my mind, because I started using mine again, recently and just found out I'm pregnant for the third time. It's nice to know that I can give the doctor accurate information about how far along I am in my pregnancy. I wish that I could find this product again, because I would buy several to give to friends. I love it!
