My father has always had great difficulty swallowing pills. As he's aged and the number of pills he has to take increased, the struggle increased too. Mom and Dad called to say that he tried the Oralflo Pill Swallowing Cup with both large and small pills and had success taking any size pill with this product. Both parents were greatly surprised about how easy the cup made pill swallowing; they love this product.Product Review: Not Easy...Not for kids

I ordered this cup for my 6 yr old for help with swallowing capsules. The item came as pictured and described. The spout looks and acts like a spaghetti strainer - restricting the flow of water so that you have to really suck to get to the liquid, which is not where the problem lies.
The cup came with an additional instruction sheet in big bold letters - stating: the cup must remain dry - thoroughly dry the cup - lift cup gently - do not get the lid wet.
This is the problem.
The pill sticks to the lid, and does not flow into your mouth. I tried it with my vitamin, and had to tilt and shake the cup as I drank - much like a dog with a new chew toy - to get it to go down. My 6 yr old tried valiantly ...without success. I would not recommend this product for kids, or adults without a sense of humor.

I thought this product might help me with swallowing pills. I found that it brought too much water into my mouth at one time. In addition, if you need to take two pills, the second pill will get wet, and it will not move into your mouth (you must dry the cup first). "A wonderful device! Medication time for our children is now positively painless. It was a struggle to get them to swallow pills, and I could never be certain they did. The Oralflo Cup is easy to use, clean, and provides certainty that pills are swallowed. I bought this for someone that has a hard time swallowing pills. I was told that it was to hard to use because the spout allows far to much liquid to come in at once. I tried it myself and have to agree.
You end up with a mouthful of liquid and the pill you were trying to swallow.
Maybe if you can find a way to plug up the spout partway it would work better.
