I've used the battery-powered model for several years, and when it failed, decided to upgrade. I'm very pleased with this rechargeable product so far (in use for about a month). Unlike with the battery-powered unit, there is no slowdown as the batteries get weak, so I get a more consistent cleaning. The charger uses an induction system so there is no electrical contact between the base and hand-piece, vastly reducing the probability for shock. This toothbrush is great. It does just what I expected it to do and a little more. It has a built-in timer that lets you know when you have brushed your teeth for the recommended two minutes. I like that. It makes my teeth feel as clean as if I had gone to the dentist.

This works really well - although it cost less than $20, it seems indistinguishable to me from one I used to have that cost close to a hundred. One great advantage of a power toothbrush is the built-in two-minute timer - I suspect just brushing longer probably makes a big difference in your dental hygiene, even without the power aspects. When we got away we find we miss brushing with it!

Granted, my only comparison for an electronic toothbrush is the $5 version from Crest, but this Oral B toothbrush is great. I've used it for a few weeks now, and my mouth feels extra clean every morning and night. (Of course, we'll see what my dentist says six months from now.) The handle is comfortable, and the 2 pulsing indicator at two minutes is a definite plus.
