Product Review: Good product
Summary: 5 Stars

We used to use a Braun toothbruch. When we learned about Oral-B we wanted to try it and we found Oral-B Professional Care 8850-DLX with two handles. So we ordered one from Amazon and we like it a lot. I recommend it to anyone looking for an electric toothbrush.

This is a good product and a very good value given that you get 2 handles. I haven't used any of the attachments other than the toothbrush but it works great.

Product Review: Great Product
Summary: 5 Stars

Great product. My teeth feel 100% cleaner. After just one month, my teeth are whiter too. A travel case came with the product and since I travel a lot, I really like that the handle will last 2 weeks before needing recharging. All of the heads that come with this particular model are great. Whitener brush, tongue cleaner and flossing heads are great to use too. You get all of them, plus the brushes and 2 handles. Great package pricing. I would recommend to anyone!!!@

Product Review: Great Toothbrush, Poor Handle Design (Black Mold!)
Summary: 4 Stars

Happy Owner 9 years and going; BUT looking for a new one b/c MOLD grows on handle and battery doesn't quite last more than a week (avg 14 brushings).

I bought this same pack from a warehouse club about 9 years ago. I use both handles consistently (not at the same time, tho!) - when one is charging, or in another bathroom, etc. The toothbrushing part is WONDERFUL! Everyone should have an electric toothbrush (I like oral-b best), in fact, I did buy them for my family one christmas. I take mine when I travel, (hotel, camping, etc.) and even bought a switching travel mini-charger for it (the one that comes with this pack is huge). Mine also said that it came with these listed accessories, but they weren't all in there (namely, the tongue-scraper which I really wanted to try - I have a manual steel one that's great, tho!). I contacted oral-b and they said the would send one, but it never arrived.

Even though I'm not 100% consistent with my dental cleaning (professional or otherwise, but I do get the job done), I still have clean teeth, fresh breath, and healthy gums. I feel it is mostly due to my using this toothbrush. I know others with similar dental-cleaning habits, but use a manual toothbrush and they have bleeding gums, staining, and well...worse.

WARNING: the handle seems to be wrapped in a perfect mold-growing medium! I noticed a problem with mine, after a lot of traveling (kept it in the case). I used bleach (yuck!) to clean them, but it only lightened the stains, they are still visible. This makes me very self-conscious to use it, especially when sharing a hotel room with others, or in places where others might see my toothbrush, etc. Who wants to use a moldy toothbrush?!? Ewww! I know it's clean, but it looks awful. I thought it was just me, but then I read a number of reviews on-line that said the same thing, and saw a pic that was exponentially worse than mine. Oral-b lists the 8850 as being the same as the 3000: [ ... ] I read a review that said the new ones may be better designed in this area, plus they're[ ... ] right now. Yay!

Important Points to Know:

1. Electric Toothbrushes are wonderful tools to maintain healthy gums and teeth (that's very important, not just for vanity, but for overall body health, google it)

2. This one is great as it lasts a long time (9+ years for me) and has useful features such as pressure and speed control and a pulse-timer. (and various head offerings; I like the sensitive brush head, as it further helps to protect my gums)

3. The travel case is useful if you travel, as the toothbrush won't fit in a regular holder and if the power button is accidentally hit and the brush is turned on while in your bag (this HAS happened to me), then you will have no power left when you get to your destination. Without your travel charger, you will be very sad to have to go back to manual brushing. Plus, people will wonder what the strange noise is, coming from your bag...not good in airport security situations!

I think my "desert-island item" would be my electric toothbrush (with solar-charger, of course!)

Product Review: Great product
Summary: 5 Stars

After researching this product and the Sonicare, I decided to go with the Oral-b. I'm glad I did because the 8850 is a great product. All the reviews for the single-unit ProfessionalCare 8850 DLX being sold on amazon apply. The handle has two speeds, however both my wife and I use the slower speed. The high speed is just too intense for the teeth but it's good for cleaning the tongue.

The only difference between this and the single-unit version is that this one has two power handles, but still only a single charging base. We just switch the handles on a daily basis to the charging base.
