Product Reviews of Oral-B Professional Care 1000 Power ToothbrushProduct Review: Great Toothbrush Summary: 4 Stars
Using a "regular" toothbrush all my life, I had a bit of adjusting getting used to this power brush.
It cleans well but bristles don't get in between teeth. Regular brush does a better job with this part of your cleaning.
Brush refill heads a bit pricey.
Overall, I would recommend to a friend. Well worth the money but save your pennies for the head replacements.

This toothbrush is awesome. I've had it for 1 1/2 years not and it's still going strong. I got this after having a Rotodent my dentist recommended. I got tired of paying $25 ea. for replacement brushes so I decided to try this. It does an awesome job and has a great two minute timer; which is the amount of time recommended for tooth brushing. My only issue - which I've seen no one else discuss - is how the post gets yucky unless you completely dry the toothbrush with a towel after each use. Maybe it only happens to me?? Anyway, the refills are affordable and it does a fabulous job - nuf' said.

I spoke to oral b and found out that this brush is identical 100% to the oral b 7400. Which is more expensive. The only thing the oral b 7400 has is an extra brush. Its a no brainer to buy this one.
Product Review: Great but noisy Summary: 4 Stars
I had been using a Cybersonic toothbrush, but the battery on that stopped holding a charge (not even for a single session), so after reading that the Pulsating toothbrush was the best, I bought this.
It seems to clean much more vigorously than the sonic toothbrush I had been using. It even made my gums bleed a little initially (though perhaps the Sonic simply didn't firm up the gums enough), though that went away. When I replace the brush head, it always feels a little rough on my gums, though that goes away over time. I'm not sure whether the worn brush head or the new one is actually better for my teeth/gums.
My main complaint is that this toothbrush is MUCH noisier than the sonic brush. Before I used to brush while watching TV, but now, I have to turn the TV way up to hear what's going on.
Also the timer doesn't start timing after you turn on the brush. It starts timing since the last time it vibrated. But I don't really brush according to the timer anyway, so it's not a big deal.
Unlike my sonic toothbrush, I have had no battery issues so far (after a year of use).
Product Review: Great but, get the cheaper one. Just as good. Summary: 2 Stars
Do you have migraines or Meniere's disease or just have a sensitive head? Don't get any of the pulsating Oral B brushes. They will just make you nauseous or trigger a headache.
I have used the classic Oral B electric brush for many years. A fantastic simple white design by Braun of Germany - since discontinued after Braun was bought by an American company. Now I have the simple low end non pulsing model. Essentially the same guts and head as the classic but with an ugly, over stylized, blue body.
When the battery started to die on my classic model, I picked up a pulsating Oral B. It is really banging away at your teeth and does as good a job as the non pulsatinging. But it vibrates your jaw and skull like, well, a vibrating electric tooth brush! After a month, it was just too much for me. I went back to the dieing battery original, but soon got its replacement as a gift.
The verdict: I'm in my 40s and I've had about 6 different dentists (moving from job to job) in 5 different states. One was a professor at a dental college. After each visit, they all proclaim my teeth are in excellent shape. I use the cheapest Oral B electric brush (non pulsating) in the morning and before bed with Colgate Total. I also floss just one time before bed and use the Crest rinse for night time. I get them cleaned every 6-9 months.
Save your money and get the cheapest Oral B electric toothbrush. I think it is on sale sometimes for about $10.
