Product Review: Great electric toothbrush

I bought this to replace an old Cybersonic toothbrush (as seen on tv) that worked amazingly well for 6 years. When that broke, I bought a cheap (in quality) $20 electric toothbrush from CVS which broke within 2 months, the power button stopped functioning properly.
The Oral-B 4000 is great, especially since Amazon was having a sale and Oral-B had a 50% off rebate. I probably would not have bought it otherwise. The LCD screen is useful for selecting one of the 4 modes, although I only use the "regular" and "sensitive" modes. Some mornings I don't want my entire skull to vibrate so the sensitive mode comes in handy.
I don't like the included brush heads, one "floss action" and one "whitening". I bought a 3-pack of the "dual clean" heads (again, big sale on Amazon, regular price is way too much) and that works really well.

I've been using an Oral B since the introduction of the 3-D Excel model many years ago. I bought the SmartSeries 4000's for my two adult daughters because I believe that this product will do a superior job in cleaning their teeth between dental checkups. I asked them how they liked their SmartSeries 40000's and got "fantastic" and "I love it" for a replies.
I spent a lot of time and money keeping their teeth in great shape during their childhood and this product is a continuing investment in their great smiles and good dental health.

I got my girlfriend this toothbrush as a gift and she loves it. We got another inter-changeable head for it so I can use it too, and it has worked out great. I love the the fact that it times how long you spend on each quadrant of your mouth, so that you spend the recommended time brushing your teeth.Product Review: Great product, one quirk

I used to have the Oral-B ProfessionalCare SmartSeries 5000 with SmartGuide Electric Toothbrush. I decided to save some money and get this one. I have to admit I miss the smart guide. This version has a small screen on the toothbrush but you can't see it while you're brushing (so the symbol that shows if you're brushing too hard isn't very useful.) I also just like the smiley face and bigger smiley face and huge smiley face progression on the smart guide (as you brush longer.) I think it encourages kids to keep brushing.Product Review: Great toothbrush

First time owner of an electric toothbrush and this was an excellent choice. I love the two speeds and the two different brush heads. The brush recommended for everyday use is the flossing head, the other one is for polishing. My teeth feel great! ...although my gums were a little sore at first, they were fine after a just a few days. I am looking forward to a good report from the dentist at my next visit. He always comments on plaque build up and I'm thinking this will really help. His hygienist actually recommended an electric toothbrush and a water pick, so I got both and I'm happy with the ones I chose.
I also love that this toothbrush comes with a travel case. Really convenient. I keep it standing on the counter top and love that it takes up hardly any space.
