I think what got me originally besides the price was the description of the number of times a minute the brushhead spins. It sounded like a lot. It was and it is. It works and it spins, almost too fast. Do not turn it on and then put toothpaste on it. Do not even put toothpaste on it and THEN turn it on.
Put toothpaste on it put it IN your mouth, against your teeth, and then turn it on.
I have for many years had a little gum recession on one or two teeth. I stopped using Colgate Total for possible health reasons and surprisingly noticed an increase. Something more than up and down back and forth business as usual brushing was needed.
I am happy with this electric dental appliance. It may be a teensiest tad underpowered but does seem to do what it is supposed to do quite well. As to whether it will help solve my gum problem time will tell.

Includes two color-coded brush heads / Triple action brush head design / Easy push on design / Recharges on storage baseReduce plaque and other dental hygiene concerns with this rechargeable cordless toothbrush. Three types of bristles in the oscillating brush head work better at cleaning than conventional brushes. Pointed interproximal bristles clean in between teeth; feathered subgingival bristles massage gums and clean under the gum line; and the polishing bristles smooth the tooth surfaces. Three twist-on brush heads are included, color-coded so that family members can each have their own. Stored in the plugged-in recharger base, the toothbrush is always fully charged and ready to use.
