Product Review: Heavy, but works great

My wife was looking for a stethoscope so she could monitor our toddler's breathing to make sure his chest congestion was getting better. After reading many reviews she settled on a stethoscope that cost almost $100. I of course settled on this one because it had great reviews and was insanely cheap. The cheap price put her off, but I suggested we try it anyway, if we didn't like it then we could return it, or worst case scenario we would be out $12.
I'm not a doctor or a nurse, and don't have any medical training at all.
Cons:
Heavy
Uncomfortable if you wear it for extended periods of time because it's heavy.
Pro:
Works perfectly I can hear my pulse at the bend in my arm and my wrist.
I can hear my toddlers lungs when he breaths loud and clear, even when they are perfectly healthy.
This is the perfect stethoscope for a concerned parent to use at home, who will only use it every once in a while. It works as good as any stethoscope and is super cheap. You would be hard pressed to find a stethoscope under $100 that performed better. If you foresee using this daily or even couple of times a week I would suggest looking for something lighter and more comfortable.

I'm not in the medical field. I can hear my heart beat on this. I read in a previous review, the ear pieces are tight and uncomfortable, and that is true.
I hear my heart beat the best when I put it in the middle of the chest, a little above where your breats are.
I imagine other ones let you hear better, but for the price, I think this one is good.
Since I'm not in the medical field, I dont have anything else to compare it to.

For the price, it's pretty sweet. It does pick up some ambient noise, but not as much as others I've used. It's rugged, so you can leave it in your pack until you need it, toss it around, it's ok to get banged up abit. It comes with a couple sets of ear plugs, neither are all that comfy, but they're not going to perforate your ear drums (In theory?)Product Review: Just as good as my own doctor's!!
