I bought my wife one of these for her birthday. She loves it, the software loaded ok on my Vista laptop with no problems. We are doing weight watchers recipes and this was such an impressive little gadget I just ordered one for myself to help motivate me in our weight loss efforts. Too bad we can't wear these while doing our water aerobics.

I have had this product for about two years. The first week I had it, it took a trip through the washing machine. I took it all apart and dried it off with towels and a blow dryer and it worked again. I have found the steps to be quite accurate and the software is a great motivator, particularly if you like data like I do. There have been two occasions recently where the clock did not work correctly and when I woke up, it was still showing the previous day. I believe a bad battery may be the cause. When I purchased it, the cost was roughly $90 and I feel I am getting my money's worth. The software also works with an Omron Blood Pressure monitor. It's great to have one application to store my steps and blood pressure ... it's also neat to see how walking really improves your blood pressure!Product Review: 25 year veteran walker here

I've been walking since I was about 16 years old (I'm 44) before walking was popular. Back then, we didn't have these nifty gadgets that I knew of. Anyway, this is my 2nd Omron. I lost the first one. Both are excellent and make me excited to walk. Cuz lets admit it: sometimes you just don't want to go! But with my headset, and my Omron I get through all six miles. The excitement is seeing all those steps add up! And this one is incredible: it calculates how many FAT calories you've burned. My heart rate monitor doesn't even do that! It really is a great little gadget with this software program. I kept a log daily via Excel. Now I just download it into my laptop and its all calculated for me. How rewarding is that? I lost over 115lbs 24 years ago through hard core walking and proper nutrition so I wouldn't go a day without my Pedometer. It's like my 'best friend' when I walk. This is my second Omron pedo as my first one started missing a LOT of steps and didn't record thousands of steps as aerobic steps after just 1.5 years. I got so annoyed and since it was no longer under warranty, I bought a second one because it generally is a good pedo altho I have not owned another brand. I really like the fact that I can download the data to my PC. On the whole, it works well altho doesn't capture 100% of one's steps. Love this pedometer even better than my first Omron. Unfortunately it was washed in the washing machine 3 times, hence the purchase of the next level up. I like that I can download the information on the computer and set goals for myself. It is still easy to use and I feel it has been the most accurate of all the brands of pedometers I have ever used.
