Product Reviews of Omron HJ-151 Hip Pedometer for Aerobic ActivityProduct Review: Don't Bother Summary: 1 StarsWaste of money, got it setup and you need really tiny tools to do it. Put it on took 5 steps, it registered 34. Not accutate at all.
Product Review: good value Summary: 5 StarsThe Omron HJ-151 Hip Pedometer serves the purposes exactly for what I wanted in a pedometer without "breaking the bank." Its pretty easy to set and use. The only thing I find is that you have to be a contortionist to read the numbers while it is on your belt. They should have some flip up or down movement to save you from taking it off your belt to get the data. All in all I like it and use it everyday without a problem.
Product Review: Plenty good enough, particularly if you tend to lose these Summary: 4 StarsThis is my second Omron. The first one was twice the price, did more (even downloaded data into my computer) and the calculations were more extensive and the step-counting a bit more accurate, but it was bigger and a little heavier and I lost it within two months. Partly my fault--I was wearing it 24/18 and didn't use the "leash" it came with, even though it was strongly recommended. (A leash backs up the pedometer's clip-on gripper with a second, more secure clasp so the pedometer's harder to lose.)
However, the first one was already bulky enough with work clothes, so I skipped the leash...and lost the pedometer. That said, these small gizmos are famous for disappearing, whether you're wearing them or not. They just kinda eventually vanish, says everyone I've talked to since--slipping out of pockets, falling out of bags, getting left on a counter or forgotten in a hotel...
So I stuck with Omron (great rep) but picked a cheaper model. And I like it better in some ways--it's smaller, flatter, and more discreet. Under a work jacket, it's invisible. It still tracks plenty of info and it tested out pretty accurately against an established 1-mile distance (showed it as 1.04 miles). And I use the leash that came with the first one--this model does NOT come with one, so make sure you buy one separately!
Product Review: Project Walk it off Summary: 4 StarsI bought 5 of these Omron pedometers for my project walk it off group at work, 4 work great, one sadly does not count all of the steps. It is nice to see the total steps for 7 days as a comparison, and the mile count for that many days. Just wish it counted all steps taken more accurately with regards to one of the pedometers. Perhaps Amazon will send a replacement for the one dud.
Product Review: Great product Summary: 5 StarsEasy to use - works well. I never had a problem with the clip, as others have stated. Well worth getting!
