Product Review: SOMEWHAT DISAPPOINTING...NOT ACCURATE Summary: 3 StarsI've been using the Omron HEM 773AC for five months and am somewhat disappointed in that the readings, based on what my doctor's office finds, are not accurate. It reads considerably lower than my actual B/P. I can get an more accurate reading by carefully watching the monitor for the "heart beat" indicator to appear after the cuff cuts off flow. But the meter always reads much lower... for example when I observe the "hear beat" return at 130 the meter will read 100 to 110.
The lower pressure I have no way of determining but I suspect
it is always a little low, maybe by ten numbers. On the positive side the unit is easy to use and I am getting an idea
of what raises my B/P.
I think three stars is more than fair for this machine.
Product Review: Convenient and Accurate Summary: 5 StarsThis monitor is easy to use, quick, and has convienent buttons and numbers. Overall I was very pleased with this purchase. The only thing different tidbit I would like to see is the adapter plug should be in the back of unit.
Product Review: Omron HEM-773-AC Summary: 5 StarsEasy operation with just the right memory capability, 2 persons x 21 readings each, makes it handy for my wife & I to keep tabs on our bp & pulse. Takes less than a minute to complete a reading.
Product Review: Excellent and consistent home blood pressure monitor Summary: 5 StarsPros: Consistent, fast, variable cuff size, AC and batteries, and it is high quality. Cons: Size, it isn't very portable, but it can still be done. It is awkward to put the cuff back in the holder(at first, it is easier when you figure it out that the tube needs to be tucked inside). This blood pressure monitor has been great for me. It is very consistent in the measurements it takes (as long as you are consistent with how you use it). This monitor has given me results that are very close to what the physician measures manually. My main complaint with most auto devices is that they are too inconsistent. One time I take a reading it will be 120/80, and then 1 minute later it will be 170/85, when it is really about 140/85. I think this is in part due to my large arm diameter of about 16 inches. This cuff fits me very well, and it is easy to line up every time. It has a marking on the cuff to assist lining it up with your artery in your arm, and clear directions on the cuff. I also needed it to fit my wife with her 12 inch arms, and I really didn't want two separate cuffs. She has low blood pressure, and it worked just fine for that as well. This cuff appears to be accurate anywhere in the range it is supposed to fit. I would strongly recommend this monitor, and I don't usually give items 5 stars unless they truly are exceptional. With this monitor, I will take my blood pressure 3 times in a row, and get the same 3 results, it is nice for a change.
