Over the years my wife and I have had several scales none of which were close to accurate. I bought this scale due to the fact that my previous cheaper scale was very inaccurate. This scale is spot on; it reads the same as the scale at the gym (medical scale) and is very consistent from multiple readings done back to back. It is very sturdy and has a solid foundation which I expect contributes to its accuracy. It measure to 0.1 of a pound...can't say for sure it is truly accurate to that level, but certainly it seems accurate to the pound or even 1/2 pound. And who needs better than that!
In terms of the fat % measurement, I can't speak to the accuracy of that. It seems to read high compared other measures I've used like a hand held one at the gym. It does seem consistent though from measure to measure, so even it is not absolutely accurate, it should be good to measure relative changes in body fat comp.
All in all I view it as a fantastic SCALE and the body fat% is a bonus feature for me and I take it with a grain of salt.
