I was actually looking for a substitute for the Gillete Trac II razor, which is no longer sold by Gillete (although the blades for the razor are sill sold). The razor that makes up part of the shaving set does the job very nicely. That is, the Trac II blades fit the razor (after a certain amount of filing down on my part of two metal flanges on the razor). The shaving brush and metal bowl are nice amenities; but I don't use either one. I threw those two items away. The razor was what was of interest to me.
I can recommend the razor to anyone (like me) who wants to continue using the Gillete Trac II blades, but isn't able to find anywhere else a razor that the blades will fit.
