I bought this for myself after I bought this as a gift for someone else. I liked the features of the off/on button that remembers the last sound you set it on. All I have to do it hit the on button before I go to bed. My last sleep sound machine was the Life Wise. The on/off switch was difficult and was also the volumn control. Then I had to fumble for my sound button each night. I like the white noise to go to sleep with. It drowns out any barking dogs, car noise or snoring. When the grand-daughters come over to stay, I use it to help them fall asleep. Now all I have to do is remember to take it with me when I travel so I can get a restful night's sleep. I recommend this to anyone that has problems going to sleep because of outside noises.Product Review: Basic Necessity

This was probably the 5th sound machine I've tried. This one, like every other one I've purchased shorts out within the first two days. It sounds crackly, like how when a speaker get's blown but I never turned the volume up past 2. I've tried every machine I've found that has the pre-recorded sounds and every one of them has had this malfunction. After all, I've returned to traveling with my small fan.Product Review: Awesome

I love this little machine. The sound is very lifelike. It puts my kids to sleep quickly. It drowns out all other noise. I love how it looks and the easy volume control. Also we use it as background when we tell imaginary stories, pretending we are in the woods or at the beach. The kids love it too.Product Review: So-So

I can't say we have used this a whole lot. I thought it would be good for my children to sleep by since I like a little noise when I sleep. But it keeps them awake for the most part. I guess it probably would be helpful for some other people. But just not us.
