Product Reviews of Obus Forme Memory Foam Travel Pillow, YellowProduct Review: Not soft enough Summary: 2 Stars
It's a nice idea to have a travel pillow made of memory foam, but this pillow just didn't cut it. It's way too bulky for airline travel. The width of the pillow pushed my head forward in an already cramped seat. Save your money and purchase a travel pillow made of a material that is more easily compressed.
Product Review: Obus Formed Foam Travel Pillow Summary: 5 Stars
Great product. Also doubles as a seat cushion if your ordered one has not arrived yet. It is a life saver for long plane trips.
Product Review: Relieves neck strain Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this three years ago after hurting my neck in a car accident. I learned from my physical therapist how important it was to keep things properly aligned to minimize the pain. This pillow is comfortable and supportive, and helps keep things lined up correctly to minimize neck strain. It's great to use when reading. It's also durable and has held up well over the years.
Product Review: Still trying to figure this thing out. Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this for a 15 hour flight where sleeping would have been great. The pillow seems well made and I like the memory foam and cover. However I couldn't really get this to work well for me.
If you just put it around your neck (like a collar) your head still flops to the side uncomfortably with little or no contact with the pillow. And the last thing you need is a pillow raising the back of your neck off an already too-vertical seat. I had more success wearing it like earmuffs; that is to say placing it on the top of my head and buttoning below the chin. It doesn't serve as a pillow in this way as much as it makes your head more flat so it doesn't roll side to side. Still, this wasn't what I expected. In retrospect, you would need a tall stiff collar to do what I was expecting this to do.
In the end, I folded it in half, stuffed it in an airline pillow pillowcase, and used it as a regular pillow leaning against the window. In this mode it was comfortable. This wouldn't work without a window seat, however.
My wife noticed a very strong smell (which I harldy noticed) so we let it air out several days before the flight. This smell is often associated with memory foam so, if you are sensative, be sure you get this in advance.
It is bulky but it does compress. You do need to apply more force than you expect and to take your time compressing it, but it will get fairly compact.
I think I will still take it on the next trip but if I didn't already own it, I wouldn't buy it again.
Product Review: This pillow gets grade of "YUCK" Summary: 1 Stars
I wasted $[...] bucks.
Frankly, I don't understand how people could like this "travel" pillow (I am saying "travel" sarcastically). I am a 6-foot tall guy and this pillow was too big for ME on a plane, much less what it would do to a smaller person. Its dimensions are 14-inches side-to-side x 13-inches front-to-back x 4.5-inches deep. This is definitely NOT for women, kids or 99% of men! Elephants maybe. For this pillow to fit, you'd have to be 9-feet tall! On the plane, the pillow was so enormous that it pushed my head forward and gave a serious neckache, so I'd call that "unusable." If I could have thrown it out of the plane's window as a piece of junk (crapola), I would have--that's what I felt like doing. This pillow is so huge that it needed its own dedicated carry-on bag. It doesn't knock-down when not used.
The pillow *might* be okay while prone at home. It is not a travel pillow--it's for home use. I give it the grade of "YUCK." I am donating it to Goodwill. Gonna look for "smaller" and "inflatable"--these cannot be worse.
