Product Reviews of OV-Watch Fertility Predictor Starter Kit with 1 Month Supply of SensorsProduct Review: This watch is amazing! Summary: 5 Stars
I highly recommend this item, it predicts ovulation and its easy to use. The only challenging thing is adjusting the band wish they had some other mechanism as a clip in but it works really well. I tried the strips before and they are not as effective as the watch.
Product Review: Wasted money and more importantly time- I would give it 0 stars Summary: 1 Stars
Whether or not this watch actually works is still up for debate and I am not so sure that it does any more than the OPK sticks. I spent $200 for the watch and sensors and so far 2/4 sensors quit working before the end of my very regular cycle. For me, the data provided does not correspond with OPK, temperature or CM. Good luck getting a human being when calling customer service. So far I have wasted $200 and 2 cycles. The return policy is completely inadequate. I ordered mine ahead of time in preparation for beginning cycle, so I could not return it after figuring out it was worthless, because you just can't figure that out in 30 days or less. Also, the company policy states that separate sensor orders cannot be returned, so even if you figure out the watch is junk in the first cycle, you may be stuck with the sensor refill pack. If you really want to give it a try, I would purchase from a store that will allow more than 30 days for a return, check the OV website for a list of stores to buy from.
Update...got a replacement watch from OV and used for two cycles. There are two primary problems with this product. 1- The sensors are not designed to make it through an entire cycle. All but one (including the replacements they sent me) pooped out before I could get to a fertile day. So if you are going to use the watch, be prepared to use more than one sensor per cycle- doing the water thing mentioned in the book didn't work.
2- The watch is not accurate. The two additional cycles I managed to get to fertile day 1, were off by 2 and 4 days respectively compared to CM, temperature and the OPK.
On thing that you really need to understand (which you can glean if you read every word on their website, FAQ, product book) is that once the watch detects the change in your sweat it goes on auto pilot, meaning it will cycle through four "fertile" days, two "ovulation" days and then two "less fertile" days. I suppose if every woman's body was that exact and consistent and the watch was accurate, that might work...
In the end, if you are having intercourse on all 8 days the watch indicates, the rules of probability mean you will increase your odds of getting pregnant. But, why not just use on online calendar which coincidentally most provide the same window of fertility as the watch. If you need something more reliable and accurate, save your money and use the OPK sticks along with BBT and CM. I use them several times a day until a day after getting the last positive. This has helped me pinpoint my day of ovulation consistently for several months now....(PS- we were using the watch and all the other methods to pinpoint ovulation to use the Shettles method).
Product Review: Worked great for me! Summary: 5 Stars
So some people didn't like this product but it worked great for my husband and myself. TTC for 6 months and then bought the OV watch. Pregnant after first month of using. For my situation, I work an odd schedule (two to three days straight, very early to very late). This caused a problem because even if the urine sticks detected a LH surge and told me I was ovulating... if I was working I wasn't going to see my husband and it would already be too late. With the OV watch we had 4-5 days heads up, so we could make sure we timed things right or even started a little early for some increased odds. It seemed to work! Some complained that the watch would not read or would dry out. I just washed my wrist off and then lightly patted it dry before putting it on every night (that way it was already a little damp). Give it 5-10 minutes before you test. I got an ok every time and again... pregnant first month. I hope you all have as good of a result as we did. Good luck!
Product Review: Worked like advertised Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this watch because I did not want to be peeing on sticks or take my temperature everyday. I figured I would try other methods after several months of using the OV watch and no results. Well, I don't have to resort to anything else because I got pregnant the first month of using the watch. I strapped it on before going to bed, did a test read to make sure it is working since while it is reading it does not tell you so. The only thing I did not like was the rash I got on my wrist. It went away once I found out I was pregnant and stopped wearing the watch. For those who have to go more than one month, I recommend switching arms. Other than that, I thought it was easy, mess-free, and highly accurate.
Product Review: Works as promised Summary: 4 Stars
I have used the watch through two cycles. I followed all instructions and everything has worked as promised. No baby yet but it has taken some of the stress out of trying. Customer service told me that cycle day one is your first FULL DAY of flow. My doctor told me that cycle day one should be the first day you start your flow. I did some research and found this to be correct. The first day you start should be counted as cycle day one. Not the next FULL DAY of flow as the rep at OV told me. Also, keep the watch on tight to avoid it moving around at night.
