The first reviewer is spot on when describing the u Squeeze massage; It squeezes! Having owned an I- squeeze for 10 years, when it stopped functioning I went in search of a unit that might actually cure what ails me- calf pain wakes me up most nights. (I've tried every pill, herbal remedy, John Sarno book and nothing helps) I saw this machine and went to Brookstone to try it. First I tried the updated version of my old machine, but it wasn't any better or any higher on the calves. In fact the new I- squeeze is lighter and cheaper so I abandoned the thought of replacement.
The u-squeeze is the real deal. The foot massage is deep and penetrating and a bit tight. The ankles get a good workout as do the lower calves. But it still does not go high enough. (I love the pictures they show in which the massager seems to go almost up to the model's knees... How short is that person???) And I'll admit, like the first poster, I thought this machine might be too intense at it's job. But then, like a good pair of jeans, you get used to the fit and it gets good. REAL good.
It may take 2 or 3 tries, but your feet will love you when you stick them in there bare, no socks, and press the heat button, the vibrating button and the massage button (I'll take "high" please). For me, a 10 minute rendezvous or perhaps hitting the button again for another massage usually puts me to sleep. Though it's heavy, I'm an average size guy and I can easily lift it on to the bed, so sometimes I'll lay it down and adjust it and fall asleep on my back while this thing massages my feet and lower legs. Bliss.
Wish my wife loved me enough to massage my calf so I could sleep through the night, but until that occurs, I've got the next best thing.
