Product Reviews of NuNaturals NuStevia White Stevia Powder, 1000-Count BoxProduct Review: My Favorite Sweetener Summary: 5 Stars I was first introduced to stevia by a friend just a few years ago. I now use this sweetener exclusively, after having just worked for almost two years at a local natural foods store. At the time, I did not even know that this type of all-natural sweetener existed. It is an extract (stevia rebaudiana) and is sold in many different types of packaging. My favorite is the small (0.035 oz) purple and white packet. This NuStevia brand is the best so far, and I have tried the liquid, bulk powder, and others but this white powder in the packet is just right. My wife and I use it in coffee, tea, fruit salads, strawberries, and on anything else which has a tart taste. The stevia gives these items a nice, sweet uplift! It will dissolve in either hot or cold drinks readily, which cannot be said for other sweeteners. As a coffee drinker, I have found that one packet gives the taste of one tsp of white sugar (which I have not used in years). I have also started to use soy creamer in coffee, and that makes a nice combination with the NuStevia. I hope to keep adding other natural and organic items to my diet as time progresses. We compared prices and saved over $30 by ordering from Amazon!
Product Review: Excellent Product & Value Summary: 5 StarsLike the others, I have used every artificial sweetner out there: Sweet 'N' Low (back when there was no other choice), then Equal when it was the "big thing", and finally Splenda when it was deemed to be a derivative of sugar and alledgely "safer" than the others. I have since been told by many people that none of these products are ultimately safe, and tried Stevia a couple years back when it came in a green package (Sweat Leaf Brand). I was disappointed with the bitterness, and abandoned it until recently when I saw the NuNatural brand at Whole Foods and my interest in my health became a priority. They had free samples, so I took one. I also took the Whole Foods brand sample for comparison. The NuNatural brand was (and is) amazing. I was skeptical and pleasantly surprised. The Whole Foods brand was "OK", and a nice runner-up. At $10 a box at Whole Foods (for 100 packets) for NuNatural, I was willing to spend the money for the benefit of my health, but recently found that my Whole Foods locally has not carried the packets for a couple of weeks. This brought me to my search online. The web site for NuNatural sells this product for about $70 for a box of 1000. Now I have found this product on line for (effectively) less than $4 per box of 100 here at this site. Yay! This product is worth the money. I look forward to the FDA moving it from the "GRAS (generally recognized as safe)" category to a full fledged approved additive that can be used in "lite" and "diet" food products. Buy this product and you will not be disappointed. And, I swear I do not work for the company!! :)
Product Review: Not Bitter! Summary: 5 StarsThis NuStevia White Stevia powder rocks! It blends easily, tastes like sugar, and is derived from a natural plant that has been used for decades in South America without problems. For my diabetes, this is the sweetener for me. One packet is perfect for a cup of tea, without any odd aftertaste or creating a craving of carbohydrates, which other sweeteners seem to cause.
This is good stuff and it works. This is also the BEST PRICE I have found! Keep up the good work, Amazon.com!
Product Review: Great Stuff, and so cheap! Summary: 5 StarsUsually this stuff runs around $10 for 100 packets in the store, so I was a bit iffy when I saw this deal. But this is my second purchase since, and I love the amazing savings!
Product Review: Stevia stands up Summary: 4 StarsI've used Sweet & Low, Equal, Splenda and Stevia. I've heard really bad things about Equal and Splenda so I stopped using them. Additionally, I heard Sweet & Low caused cancer in rats. Sweet & Low was never pulled from the shelves because it was established that millions of people used it for several years with no problems. It was deemed safest of the 3 big sellers.
When Stevia arrived on the scene, it received a great, many excellent reviews, except it didn't taste very good -- so NuNaturals came out with a non-bitter version of Stevia. It was quite expensive until I encountered it at Amazon.com. The price is right and Stevia has, at this point in time, joined the ranks as one of the safest. I've enjoyed the new and improved version and rate it 4 stars because I wish it were as sweet as Sweet & Low.
