It was pretty much what I expected...I do agree with a previous customer who said that the light was much brighter than really needed, even in complete darkness-I will probably wrap a piece of cloth over it to dim it a little-guess manufacturer is trying to err on the side of brighter rather than too dim. Was a bit bulky, but still effective, especially for those times an idea/dream pops into your head, you can grab it off the nightstand and pen it on paper :o)
