Neosporin overnight lip therapy treatment is really nothing special, its just white vaseline, I have to say its not waxy at all its glides on smoothly and sheer. The reason it got three stars is because I didn't really see any changes. If anything I'd rather stick with carmex as my overnight lip treatment or I would apply the neosporin overnight lip treatment as an undercoat on my lips and carmex on top for a more full affect of the product since it doesnt do much on its own as a night treatment. I also think that the price for the produt is a bit much.Product Review: Nothing to write home about.

The product contents of this Neosporin Lip Cream are very basic, you could probably buy a bigger tub of White Petrolatum for less than what you pay for this little bitty thing. I had been having badly chapped lips as of late because I was using carmex every night. Carmex contains camphor, menthol, and phenol which can cause a dependency of carmex. This contributes to dry chapped lips, especially when you stop using the product.
To make things worse I had spent a lot of time in the sun and it really took a toll on my lips. Someone recommended I try Lanolin, which is used by nursing mothers on their chapped nipples when they breast feed. I went to Baby's R Us and bought a nice tube of Lansinoh brand Lanolin cream. I also used Cortizol 10 to stop the itching. Between the two, my lips are 100% better and I couldn't be happier!

Product Review: Saw a difference after one night

I had extremely dry lips due to the very cold weather. My lips were in very bad shape and desperately needed exfoliation. I decided to try this product after a beauty editor recommended it as one of the best new products on the "Today" show. After using this treatment one night my lips were softer and smoother the very next day. I plan to continue using this product nightly. This is a night treatment since there is a slight white pasty look to the cream. I highly recommend this product.Product Review: a great product!

For years now I have had very dry crusty lips. Over the years I have tried several lip balms that would only provide temporary relief. Then I tried Neosporin's overnight lip tratment claiming to make lips healthier in three days. To my suprise my lips were soft and well hydrated after the very first treatment. Unlike other products that smears a layer of crap over your lips Neosporin seems to penetrate deep under the crust and scales to actually moisturize healing lips. Wow!!! Throughout the next day my lips remained soft and healthy without any additional application. Now I'm on day four and still amazed how well this stuff works. My lips are now soft and supple and no longer weapons of mass destruction.
I highly recommend this product!
btw - the ingredients include lanolin, cocoa butter, and vitamin E :)

Save your lips, save your money--don't buy Neosporin.
For months, yes, months, my lips were strangely chapped.
Peeling, red around the edges of my middle-aged lips, but now my lips PLUMPED. So, in a vain way, I thought-- plumped for free--makes my lips look like 30 year old lips. Nice! So I continued to cover my lips with various brands of lipsticks and various brands of lip treatment to hopefully tame the peeling. But, vanity took over--I preferred the plumpness.
Ran to Target and bought almost every brand of lip treatment to try and cure these crusty things. They were plump but now looking crusty. Blistex Deep Renewal, Neosporin Daily Hydration Therapy, and the little Neosporin Overnight Renewal.
Also, I thought I was being smart and asked the pharmacist at Target which over the counter treatment is best, because my lips were constantly peeling. She ought to know, right? She said "Carmex." I bought a handful of these little yellow/red tubes.
Apply, apply, and apply.
It took an old toad at work to make a comment about my lips. "What happened to your lips?" His faced scrunched; he looked like he was grossed out. So, that little bug eyed drone made me mentally focus on my lips and noticed OMG--I'm loosing sensation on my bottom lip. OMG. What's wrong with me??
Of course my mind drifted to the worst case scenarios.
I made an appointment with a dermatologist. I had to pay out of pocket.
I brought my lip treatments to show the dermatologist what I was using on my lips. When I whipped the little Neosporin Overnight Renewal out of my bag she grunted an ugly grunt. Emphatically she commanded, "Toss it!"
I have a horrible memory for details but she said something like Neosporin is the fifth leading cause of irritation in the States, big problem. Something about all these lip treatments have something in them that end up drying your lips so you keep using more. My little lips spiraled to ugliness and I had only been on quest to prettiness.
Go figure.
Also, that little yellowed tube of Carmex is toxic. When I showed my dermatologist I think she said the word, "Fire!" Which I understood her code word and nodded. Every time I used it felt like my lips were on fire.
Her tip to me, use only a lip pencil with Catrix. (Lip stuff she sells in her office). Something about "Don't wear lipstick!" all the chemicals.
I have to use a medication for my lips to undue the harm from all the over the counter stuff--the stuff that was supposed to help me, and help my crusty old lips. The lose of sensation in my bottom lip was due to all the inflammation.
Lip pencil and Catrix, it is.
