Product Reviews of NeilMed NasaFlo Unbreakable Neti Pot with 50 Premixed Packets

Product Review: Reduces my husband's sinus problems!
Summary: 5 Stars

My husband has sinus problems regularly and using the Neti Pot has greatly reduced his post nasal drip. This allows him to decrease the need for taking antihistamines unless they are really necessary.

Product Review: Rinsing is good, but not with this pot!
Summary: 1 Stars

Rinsing the sinuses is a great thing to do, but this pot is poorly constructed and water leaks from the top because you can never get the lid to close properly. I contacted the company and never got a reply. We bought two of these, one for my husband and one for myself and they both have the same problem. Do yourself a favor and buy one of the other brands!

Product Review: Simple and it Works
Summary: 5 Stars

After years of being told I could not be treated for dust allergies and suffered tremendous bouts of sneezing, I finally find a simple product that is ages old. This little pot just contains a mix of saline solution. Just mix it with lukewarm water and pour through your nostrils. My sneezing stops and I can breathe. The saline doesn't irritate my nose and I can sleep. It is so simple, I just can't believe it took this long to discover. This is a very effective and inexpensive remedy for allergies or colds. There are lots of different types of neti pots, but this one works just fine. No reason to spend a small fortune for something that works as is.

Product Review: Soothing relief for painful sinus congestion
Summary: 5 Stars

Lightweight plastic pot, premixed packets of salt and bicarbonate pH balanced to eliminate sting. With upper respiratory infection just breathing inside dry air feels like raking sandpaper inside the nose.

I microwave-boil a cup of water 250cc, cool, mix 240cc with the salt packet in the neti pot and rinse out nose for humidifying relief, reducing swelling in nasal mucous membranes, flushing out clogging choke-gagging postnasal mucous tickling in back of throat.

After a couple rinses poured through both nasal passages with the neti pot am able to breathe without burning pain, coughing, tickling gag and achieve full night's sleep. The combination of jet lag, lack of sleep, exhaustion and illness can be rapidly alleviated.

Product Review: Truly Life Changing
Summary: 5 Stars

I started using a Neti Pot over a year and a half ago. I had been suffering through allergies/rhinitis for years, and the problem seemed to get worse and worse even though I was taking Flonase and Claritin. The worst part was that I was constantly clearing my throat and needing to hack up all sorts of junk, which is difficult to do and embarassing in an office environment.

Then I saw this Neti Pot for sale at a local drugstore and bought one on a whim "just to try it out." The results were immediate and profound. At first I used a full pot through each nostril morning and night, but after a few weeks I scaled it back to one pot per nostril in the morning. I like to do it at the end of a hot shower, when my nasal passages are already opened up a bit. The results in my case have been so positive that I haven't used any allergy medication since I started using the neti pot, thus saving quite a bit of money and keeping drugs out of my system.

I like the pre-measured packets (one per pot) for their convenience in the shower and when traveling, but I stick to the generic drugstore brand, which is quite a bit cheaper than the NeilMed packets. It's just salt and baking soda, so there's not much difference and really no reason why one couldn't mix up one's own.

I like this particular pot because it has a lid, which makes it easier to mix up a batch of solution. Simply fill the pot with warm water, pour in a packet of saline mix, screw down the lid and shake for a few seconds. I'm not sure how the lidless pots would work since you can't really shake them to mix up the solution. I guess you could use a spoon but that's just one more thing to gather germs, and you want to minimize the germs getting into your sinuses (that's really the whole point).

I also like that this pot is dishwasher safe, although I imagine that most neti pots share the same quality.

In conclusion, I can't recommend the Neti Pot highly enough to those who suffer from allergies or sinus issues. It really has changed my life like few other things, and is highly economical to boot. Even if you're skeptical just give it a try. Worst case is that you're out fifteen bucks, but the upside is enormous!
