This light box has really helped me to redefine living all year long. I live in a city that is already overcast about 200 days out of the year but winter months are extra difficult for me since I never see the morning light (upon waking or during my drive in to the office). I used to spend most of October to April sleeping while not at work and not having enough energy to go out and enjoy the things I usually do. This light allows me to stay charged throughout the day and has brought back the joy of every day living all year long :).
I chose this model because of it's 10,000 lux output and because my experience with blue light only boxes have been less then ideal (they trigger anxiety attacks in me). It's true that you need to sit relatively close to this product in order to receive the full 10,000 lux affect however, you can still receive the same benefit of the light sitting slightly further away just by increasing the treatment time. It's a tradeoff but at least you have options.
My daily treatment consists of sitting in front of the light box at 6:45am/7am for 45 minutes in total. The first day I used it I experienced an uncomfortable feeling of disorientation and confusion which followed me for about an hour after use and so I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to use this product at all but thankfully the side affects were far less noticable by the second day and I had absolutely no negative side affects by the third. In addition to normalizing my sleep schedule (in the past I was frequently sleeping 12+ hours a day) I also noticed an improvement in my overall mood. I was pleasantly surprised by this because it never even occured to me that I was 'down in the dumps' to begin with! It was almost like clearing the fog from my head. I felt bright, light and happy and people even commented on the fact that I was just 'smiling' more often :). It doesn't mean I don't still have bad days or moments where I get sad but now those feelings are a result of experiences that I can identify as having triggered those feelings in me - basically, feeling blah is no longer the norm.
It may seem like a hassle to try and schedule time in to sit in front of this light box every morning (especially EARLY in the morning) but it really isn't that bad if you can make it part of your routine. I'm in my office no later then 7 to begin with, so I choose to do my treatment at my desk while checking emails and getting ready to start my day. I just pull it up close to me on the side of my laptop so I can glance at it occassionaly and when my treatment is done, I move it back behind my laptop. It doesn't take up much space at all. I've also bought one for my boyfriend to keep at his home office and I like to use it as well on the weekends. We both use the ionic treatment during my light therapy sessions because we like the smell of it, but I turn it off when finished because I think it tends to aggravate my breathing if left on for too long.
Very sturdy piece of equipment and I appreciate that you can purchase and replace the bulbs on your own. I see this lasting a long long time! I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking to achieve therapeutic results from Light Therapy treatment.

Tested for Safety
Sun Touch Plus with Sky Effect Technology has been submitted for safety testing to the Age-related Macular Degeneration Center at the University of Texas' Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
