Texture is gritty right out of the pot. Smooths out with rubbing but that's not ideal for applying to small area. I'm using it now for chapped hands and face - it's the only thing that's non-irritating for me now, so it is quite gentle.Product Review: Healing and Soothing!

This product was given to me as a shower gift and I am so glad I got it. I started using this product on my before I gave birth after my shower on my nipples, and now I am nursing and pumping my newborn to increase her weight, and my nipples were in need of some relief. This product is soothing, keeps my nipples soft (especially when I put it on under Lansinoh Soothies gel pads) and they aren't getting too cracked. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that it got a little crusty on the top once opened and has some lumps in it. I also don't love the smell, but it isn't unpleasing. It's also great for my dry hands that I am washing so often!Product Review: LIFE SAVER!!

I was sent home from the hospital with the traditional nipple cream. But it just didn't seem to do anything for me. Plus I wasn't a fan of pretty much feeding my baby lanolin...I have this Earth Baby butter and love it! Now that that rough phase is gone, it still is by my bed as my lip balm and cuticle oil. :-)
Second time around, I'll have it at home before I even give birth!

I've used this product since my son was 3 days old. It is a lifesaver! Very soothing, I've never had cracked or bleeding nipples while using it. Sore sometimes but that's inevitable, and even when I'm sore this nipple butter feels great. Goes on smooth, no tugging of skin and I've never stuck to nursing pads or anything while using it. I bought this product based on reviews and I'm extremely glad that I did. I wasn't sure what lanolin was at first, but once I looked it up I was turned off by what it's made of. I did receive a tube of lanolin at my shower and when I opened it to see what it was all about it was so hard and thick I instantly did not want to use it. At the hospital I forgot to use the nipple butter for the first day or two and I noticed a little bit of dried blood, I immediately started using the butter and haven't had a problem since. Also, when I was at the hospital I asked the lactation consultant her opinion on the butter and she said it seemed safe to use.
Some of the other reviews mention that a tub has lasted them for months on end, which is not the case for me. Maybe I'm too overzealous in my application of the butter, or maybe my son is just too aggressive making me feel the need to use it often, but my son is 6 weeks and I've used 2 tubs already. I just subscribed to receive Amazon's pack of 3 version of this item every 2 months so that while I'm nursing I don't ever go without it.. I have yet to see this item in any baby store I've been to (neither the big name stores or smaller boutiques). Love this product!

When I started breastfeeding my nipples got very cracked and sore. This helped clear that right up. It was recommended by my doula and I am very happy with it. I would much rather have this on my nipples that my baby is feeding off of than the petrochemical based products found in the drugstore
