I have a Miele Dishwasher that needs this salt. I ran it for some time with the "salt" light on, and got some problems (Drain/Intake light) and the cycle would stop mid cycle, and had to be restarted.
Since adding the salt, Dishwasher has worked fine. The salt is required for the built in water softener. I can't get it locally, and this was the best deal I could find.

Didn't think there would be much to say about this salt, but it really did make a difference for my Miele dishwasher. The dishes are coming out with fewer water spots. I recommend it. Couldn't find it elsewhere and FactoryDirect got it right out to me.Product Review: no difference

even after cleaning our miele dishwasher the machine doesn't work very well (especially the silver ware and cups often don't get clean) so i thought adding this somat salt will make a difference and ordered it. using it now for a couple of weeks (the machine runs probably 2 times per week) i see no difference to the regular salt that i bought before at the supermarket. i don't say it is a bad product it just doesn't seem to make an impact in any way.
