bought this product on high hopes according to other review. Received the product today. Found out the active ingredient is nothing but 3% salicylic acid which does nothing but dissolving the scale a little bit. It does not have coal tar in it - the description on it should specifically indicate that because they chose to use the same name as the other product MG217 which has coal tar as main ingredient. Salicylic acid is not even supposed to have any curing effect - but some other reviewers said it cured their psoriasis?!
The reviews on this site was misleading at most when the description of the product does not even claim that it even cures psoriasis by any means.
One other reviewer on another site (do not remember exactly - probably Walgreen. You can find it by searching on Google MG217 reviews)was more misleading, saying this is a better product than the original MG217 because it has vitamin E in it. Now I found out that this could not be true - coal tar in the original MG217 is supposed to have some curing effect at least, but not salicylic acid in this product.
Now I do not believe these reviews are truthful, I begin to doubt if the reviews of the original MG217 are truthful either. It only sounds too good to be true now, although I purchased the other products too, which have not arrived in the mail yet.
Do people who sell products advertise them (mislead people) by putting up perfect reviews? Hope this helps people who really need help rather than hypes.
If you are buying this product to soften your scales on your skin, go ahead. I tried once so far and it does seem to work on that effect. I rated 3 stars to alert people and in protest of the manufacturer/seller using the same name for two totally different products without specifically indicating they are totally different. The product container does indicate this not having coal tar in it.
