I've used this safety razor 3 times and ended up bleeding each time.
I bought the safety razor based upon an article in Money Magazine.
The article said that you could get a better shave with the much cheaper blades.
I have been using a 4 blade razor for years and got a good close shave and no cuts.
But the cost keeps going up and I was looking for a good shave with a lower cost.
I guess I need to keep looking. Lesson learned!

I was a little hesitant to switch over from my Gillette Fusion to a Safety Razor. The long handle fits well in my big hands and has a real natural feel to it. I am still learning the do's and don'ts of proper Safety Razor etiquette, paired with good shaving oils and lotions this product is spot-on.Product Review: A great razor!

This is a great razor but it does require a attention in it's use. Use shaving soap and a badger shaving brush not can soap if you plan on getting any results from the use of this razor. Also it helps to use some blue loc-tite on the threads of the handle to keep it from turning during use, and during adjustment. Try to take your time and shave with the grain This will give the best results and prevents razor burn. It also helps to prep your face with a hot towel. You can use Kheil's products instead and they do work, but be prepared to shell out the big bucks. I just stick to shave soap, a badger brush, and witch-hazel. All other things are a bonus which my job rarely affords. Also try shaving right before bed if you can. This really improved my shave and allowed more time to focus ( something all beginers should do with this razor). Avoid rushing with this razor as it can surprise even the best shaver if they get impatient. I might also add that this is one of the best razors I've use for shaving my head. This surprised me because I never expected to use it for this, but my headblade broke so I started using it instead. It cleans up much better then disposable razors do and gives a much closer shave.Product Review: A real man's razor

This razor will give you an extremely close shave! Unlike the plastic Gillette fusion razors this razor is heavy, so you don't have to apply any pressure. Just hold it by the end and let it glide. You don't want to shave against the grain at first (if that's what you did right off the bat with the old plastic razors), shaving with the grain and 90 degrees to it will give a nice smooth shave. Also, when I used to lather for the second time, the old plastic razor would really irritate my skin the second time. With this type of razor though there's no irritation, so you can lather, and relather multiple times. Just remember to not apply too much pressure. The blades are also very cheap so you can change them frequently.Product Review: A solid and well balanced razor

This is a very well built razor. It is a solid cast razor with a fine finish. the handle is just the right length and the razor is very well balanced in the hand.
