great start for intro to double edge shaving. i used this when i first bought the merkur long handle. but after a while, if you want something sharper, try the feather razor blades. feathers might be to sharp for some people, so these are perfect.Product Review: the best blade

Mekur makes a really great blade. While I have to change blades every three days I have yet to find a bad one in any of the packages. The price is higher than some of the other blades but you are paying for quality.
