Product Review: Cold night foot warmer

A friend bought me one of these for Christmas many years ago. It changed my life. I now use it every night from October through May. I have cold feet that never warm themselves. I put the gel pack in the microwave for 3 minutes, squish it around, and maybe heat it for 30 seconds to a minute more. I put this at the bottom of my bed between the sheets and it's wonderful. The pack stays warm for 8 hours. I can stretch out and relax instead of curling up and trying to tuck my feet behind my knees. The cats also like the warm spot at the foot of the bed!
After 2 years or so, the plastic eventually gives out and a pop in the microwave means it's time to get a new one. It's still worth every penny!

I first used this large gel pad at my friend's house and fell in love with it. I bought one for myself and my husband. It kept my back warm throughout the night in the winter. I don't have any back stiffness or pain when I get up. Then I bought it this Christmas for my parents-in-law who are in their 80s. Just two days into using it, they already love it. My father-in-law reported much less back pain, and my mother-in-law said she slept much better and did not need to get up for bathroom at night. It's amazing how a small thing can make such difference. Another plus is it's very easy to use. Microwave it for 2.5 to 3 minutes. When it cools down, add 1 more minute. It provides gentle heat for the rest of night without overheat of an electric heating pad.Product Review: held up longer than expected

I've had this product for a number of years... too long to actually remember if it's been 4 or 5 years. i dont use it every day, but i do use it often (chronic stiff neck and shoulders), moreso in the past 6 months. it holds the heat well but i've never really tried it "cold". today, however, when heating it up in the microwave, i noticed a small pinhole leak and the gel is coming out slowly... so it will have to be replaced. but nothing lasts forever, right? and if i can get the 2-pack for $20 or another brand 1-pack for $10, i may as well go with the familiar.
