Product Review: Don't Waste Your Money

My husband and I are both nurses and routinely work night shifts. Whoever is not sleeping during the day is running our household with three children. I purchased the Marpac because of its wonderful reviews and actually kind of "blew off" the few negatives I read. What a mistake. While it is small and has varying pitches of sound easily adjusted by twisting the outer shell of the unit, it is absolutely NOT loud enough to cover everyday household noise. During the day I "slept", I heard my children playing, the microwave and kitchen doors closing, our garage door going up and down, the garbage truck, and the school bus (just to name a few). This unit is perhaps suitable if you only need it at night as white noise to sleep better, but if you are a shift worker who needs it to cover noise during the day, skip it. I am purchasing another Honeywell fan to replace the one I've had for the past 10 years and cost me $15.Product Review: Drunk neighbors heard no more

I have to say that apartment living in southern California can really be a drag. We are all piled on top of each other - much like the barrios that are found along major waterways in central and south America. My neighbors are really loud drunks and they have a pitbull that also is a loud drunk. I also have neighbors on the other side who insist on playing ping pong until 2am. My two small and impressionable children have always been woken up by these neighbors shenanigans. I purchased the Marpac Sound Screen 580 with hopes of drowning out the loud laughter and the sound of crushing beer cans. I could not have been more pleased with my purchase. My children can sleep through the night as if we lived in a normal neighborhood. They are better rested and I am sleeping better knowing that the Sound Screen 580 is lulling my kids into a deep and satisfying slumber.Product Review: Effective white noise but has metallic clicking/rattling

This is wonderful. I bought it for my toddler son's room and it has helped him to sleep much better not hearing his older sister during naps and bedtime. Also helps with the noise from the street (we live on the same street as a school and pick-up time is quite busy and right during his nap.) The volume and intensity of the white noise sound can be adjusted by simple turns of the machine and is not too loud to block out a CD or radio playing. I bought this product for my husband who needs the white noise to fall asleep. Prior to this purchase, he had been putting the pedestal fan on for the noise. As I do not care for the fan (especially in winter), I decided to research the white noise machines. This product is fantastic...very simple to use. He has loved it from the first time that it was used. It is easy to adjust the volume of the noise. I would recommend it for anyone who requires background white noise to sleep.
