This is a perfect replacement for the desk fan she used every day and night (especially in the winter months when we don't need more cold, dry air moving around!). My original idea was to use it in the master bedroom to drown out noises that might wake my husband (he goes to bed much earlier than the rest of us), but we found it to be too loud for our liking. If we put it in the closet or bathroom and shut the door, it was tolerable. I gave this sound machine 5 stars based on its effectiveness for my daughter.Product Review: Awesome

We love this sound machine. We use it in my baby's room and it really blocks out everyday noises. It has one speed, but you can adjust the strength by turning the unit. We did use a fan, but this is a great alternative.
