I developed insomnia a few months ago and have tried all kinds of non-drug remedies. Since I've never been able to sleep with a fan running, I didn't think a white noise machine would work, but since nothing else had, I decided to give one a try. After researching various products, I chose the Marpac 980A. I've had it for three weeks and even though I use it on its lowest settings, it has been amazing. It blocks out enough ambient noise and isn't too loud. I'm definitely sleeping better and highly recommend this product.Product Review: Amazing

Wow!! It is unbelievable what this product has done for our lives!! We not only had to deal with a rooster that crows from 3 in the morning on but one of the only noturnal dogs there is. We needed the dog to scare off wildlife that killed our chickens...but he barks incessantly at night and sleeps the whole day. From the first night of using this product we have not heard a single thing. The dog is protecting our livestock while we are happily sleeping soundly. I have used one of these machines since I was in college, to help me sleep in the noisy dorm. Although I haven't lived in a dorm for 14 years, I am still addicted to white noise for sleeping! My boyfriend is also addicted to white noise thanks to me, and we even got one of these machines for his son, to keep him from using an actual fan for noise and waking up with a cold. He too is showing signs of addiction. At least we are all sleeping well these days!Product Review: Amazing! The only white noise option for infants!

We tried white noise cd's to calm our son but they would stop after the hour time and restart (even on the restart setting). Fans work good but can't use them year round. We also have a humidifer and it is great! But this is AMAZING. It has tons of different settings. Just plug it in and it goes forever! We use his overhead fan, his humidifer and the white noise machine every night. The white noise is nice because we took it on trips and it was a lifesaver!Product Review: An Amazing Product!

A friend of ours had this machine and suggested we use it while visiting them for the weekend. They were hosting a football party of about 30 adults and 20 children! Our daughter was VERY colicky, and had NEVER laid down on her own for a nap in all of her 4 months! Despite my skepticism, we tried it and she slept for two hours! Even with all the guys yelling at the game and screaming children! I ordered one of my own immediately! A must have for parents!
